I’m here to give you guys my thoughts on xbox live gold the exclusive subscription service from xbox one microsoft you can get this of course on your xbox. One. But if you still have an xbox 360.
You can use xbox live on there as well you can also use it with your windows pc. If you have that xbox live integration if you want to sign in to your account and a lot of people have been asking me for years and years. What is xbox live gold.
How do i set up for xbox live gold is it worth it to get xbox live gold well the first thing is to understand what is xbox live gold xbox live is the service that allows you to sign in and add friends and all that jazz and check out different things on the microsoft store on the xbox one kind of similar to playstation network. You don’t necessarily need to sign up for playstation plus to be a part of the playstation network.
If you want to create a gamer tag and add friends and you know maybe send messages or whatnot. But if you want the additional benefits. Which include playing multiplayer.
Which include playing multiplayer with your friends. Making new friends. Voice chats special discounts and even free games well then somewhere to playstation plus.
You’re gonna have to upgrade to xbox live gold. So what do you get as i mentioned you get voice chat multiplayer and free games per month for the duration of your subscription. What that means is say right now every month.
They release up to three games. Maybe more called games with gold which are free games you get as an xbox live gold subscriber somebody like me who subscribed yearly let’s just say i have the subscription just for the year for a whole year i can play adventure time super bomberman our star wars republic commando and all the other xbox live games with gold i downloaded for free as part of my subscription for as long as it runs now before we get to the other benefits you might be wondering well ok that sounds cool.
But where do i sign up and what if i don’t want to sign up for a year. Well it’s pretty easy you can either go to the microsoft store on your xbox. One interface or you can do so on microsoft comm go to the xbox section.
And you can sign up and they’ve got a number of different plans they have a one month plan for what 999 per month which you cancel anytime they have the three month plan for 2499. Which you could also cancel at any time and then they have the 12 month subscription for a whole year 5999 per year. Which is what i have again you can also cancel anytime.
And it’s very easy to cancel i mean you just go on the site. A little subscription section. You can even go to your subscription section here on your xbox and you’re able to cancel pretty quickly already new whatever you want to do i mean.
It’s it’s very user friendly which i get to give microsoft props for now for people wondering well we’ll wait a minute. I don’t have a credit card.
I don’t really have a pay power and comfortable using it what do i do the good news is xbox live gold and xbox in general is pretty mainstream at this point. So you could literally go to a walmart. A cvs or walgreens any kind of pharmacy or local store pick up a prepaid card and just redeem that code.
So once you redeem that code you have access to the voice chat you have access to playing multiplayer games. Whether it be madden nba 2k grand theft. Auto red dead redemption.
You name it now some games you can obviously play single player. But for certain aspects of multiplayer or in cases of a lot of games all multiplayer you do need xbox live gold and yes at times. I can include games like fortnight and apex legends.
Which are pretty damn popular right about now you also get discounts on various games each and every single week. So typically there’s new sales that drop tuesday unless.
There’s like some sort of flash sale so you notice right here like spyro reignited trilogy that you get for 2999. With gold you might get a small discount without gold. But you get a greater discount with gold halo.
Wars. 2 standard. Edition.
20 for to. Horizon. 320.
599. Need for speed ultimate bundle.
You three games for nineteen. Eighty which is pretty damn good crash bandicoot. Trilogy.
2599 gta with a premium online feature 15 phishing sim world 1499. I mean you get a number of discounts and this goes on each and every single week. Now you also may be asking me well fred what free games have you gotten with xbox live gold well let me tell you right here and i’m gonna bring them up right about now so here’s just the games.
I have currently installed that i have gotten from xbox live gold since i’ve been an xbox live gold member give or take since 2012 adventure time back to the future from telltale games. The banner saga night squad for honor celeste. Which was game of the year for a lot of people last year gone home murdered soul suspect.
Max. The curse of the brotherhood overcooked one oxen free crimes and punishment sticks sunset overdrive which is a fantastic first party title bomberman dear god van helsing superhot trackmania trials jwe 2k16 and zoo tycoon and that’s just what i have installed now let’s look at some of the games.
I’ve downloaded before that maybe i uninstalled at one point assassin’s creed chronicles assassin’s creed syndicate costume quest battlefield. One assault android cactus death. Squared earth luck go simulator hand of fate layers of fear lords of the fallen metal gear solid.
5. The phantom pain sleeping dogs. Which is phenomenal and some would say maybe as better controls than gta.
5. The crew the escapists the walking dead series. The witness which is a hell of a game as well tomb raider definitive edition thief the wolf among us valiant hearts trials fusion zombie zeroes death trap and watch dogs.
1. And that’s just scratching the surface.
So overall you can develop a huge massive fun diverse library of games. If you’re like me and subscribe to xbox live gold long enough now again for some people who play pc. Who are on steam on battlenet you might be saying.
Yeah. I don’t really feel like spending. The money here because i already have multiplayer for free on my pc and that’s cool.
But if you’re somebody again that has xbox xbox one as your primary console. Then this is probably the service for you. And the nice thing in case.
You haven’t noticed is you not only get xbox one games you get xbox classic games and xbox 360 games that’s right frozen. Don’t know xbox one allows you to have backwards compatibility for up to three generations of consoles and while ps4 allows you to have that through playstation now they’re no longer providing ps3 and ps vita games on playstation plus and quite frankly you were never able to play them anyway on your ps4.
Unless you had the playstation out service for select games. So i think. This is actually a hell of a deal for gamers.
And i would give xbox live gold a massive thumbs up.
