Tonight. Battle. Royale has single handedly changed gaming forever from its constant post launch.
Support support through new content. Like seasons and item shop refreshes to the map. Changes in adjustments.
Fortnight battle royale has seriously raised the bar. When it comes to what consumers expect to see happen with the game after it releases and thanks to the waves that fortnight has been making it’s attracted a lot of attention. But not all of that attention is good attention.
Because while four guide has been praised for being one of the best games to ever release. It’s also been criticized time and time and time again for its impact on the lives of millions upon millions of players. Most of which are youngers the game’s target audience is generally younger than what you’d see in other games.
Like call of duty rainbow. Six siege etc. Etc.
There has been plenty of news segments and plenty of articles written about the negative effects of fortnight’s so today. We’re taking a look at ten reasons. Why four night is apparently bad for you and really saying.
If these reasons are legitimate or just some scare tactics used by mainstream media.
So without further ado let’s get into it number. One it’s addicting like most games for tonight. Battle.
Royale. Has been one of the main culprits of apparently infecting the minds of all of its players because it is just too addicting. But really i feel like it’s not necessarily as addicting as it is just refreshing.
The main argument stating the game is on heavy drug levels of addicting is that it’s causing a feeling of thrill and excitement that you just don’t want to give up so you keep at it and you keep at it and you keep at it for tonight. Though is a nice different take on battle royale compared to the vast majority of the other games out there right now. So it is very refreshing in that sense it does feel nice to play a game that is genuinely different and if something is fun.
Why wouldn’t you want to enjoy more of it is it addicting yeah sure just like many many other things out there. But this quote unquote addiction. I feel like really only becomes a major problem when it’s not balanced out with regular life as well.
Which is oftentimes an outlier expiry number two it costs too much money for being a free to play game for tonight. Vader leal is certainly more expensive than some people would like that is if you want to enjoy all the content that the game has to offer from the item shops which can cost upwards of 20 30 even 40 dollars per refresh to the battle pass to the store items and you’ve got yourself a pretty hefty credit card bill at the end of the month. If you are trying to acquire everything there is to have now most people aren’t doing that.
But there’s definitely been some cases in which a kid has gotten their parents credit card and had a little too much fun in the item shop. Let’s just hope they were using a supportive creator code. Anyways is fortinet expensive definitely.
But outside of the battle pass.
Which does offer xp bonuses. So you can level up faster. Pretty much everything you can buy in the game is cosmetic meaning.
It does not affect gameplay whatsoever. So in turn. It’s not absolutely necessary number.
Three. It apparently makes you violence. Ah.
The good old video games make you violence points. Which has had a million different tests done by both qualified and unqualified personnel each with their own unique conclusion and regardless for tonight’s out of all games in the battle royale genre. Really is the least violent one you could name it has 80 rating.
Whereas. The majority of the other battle royale games have an m rating. The game features no blood.
When you shoot or damage another player and the game doesn’t even refer to kills as kills. And instead refers to them as eliminations. So when it comes to making you violence.
Fortnight.
Probably is not doing that if fournette is causing you to do anything my money would be on causing you to awkwardly default dance in front of your friends. Number four. It targets children.
Too much as i just mentioned. Fortnight is rated t for teen. Under the implication.
That it depicts acts of violence. Although it’s done in probably. The least violent way you can for such a game.
That said. Many people are concerned that fortnight is not a game meant for kids. Despite it being very kid friendly in both its overall nature in comparison to other games in the genre.
And also its general appeal through cosmetics characters and story. Frankly. Four night is a kids game that appeals to a far larger demographic.
That unfortunately has a lot of ways kids can have more fun through paying money to put it into perspective. Me are you wanting that hot wheels toy or a pack of pokemon cards when we were young is now little timmy wanting the skull trooper skin from the shop. So yeah for tonight’s primary demographic is younger.
But i think the only thing epic games is really targeting a shareholder happiness and higher player counts.
If i’m being honest number five. It distracts you from other priorities alright. So unlike most of the other things we’ve discussed so far.
I can fully admit that four night has definitely distracted me from other priorities like workers school. There have absolutely been times. Where i’ve hopped on and do some challenges or to grind out a victory royale instead of say working on a paper.
But literally the exact same thing can be said about every. Other media. As well other video games.
Watching a tv or movie. Etc. Etc.
These are all distractions and fortnight’s should. N’t be singled out as the main cause for gamers procrastination number six. It’s toxic.
This is another one that is starting to become a bit more true as the days and weeks go by fortnight in its original state was a pretty welcoming game. As everyone was near the bottom of the skill gap and on the same playing field now though eleven seasons down the road. There is a massive skill gap that only keeps getting bigger as new metas and techniques are discovered now it seems like if you lose an intense build battle you’re going to get danced on if you’re streaming and losing engagement.
The chat is going to be all over you and if you’re not pulling your weight.
In a squads. Match your random fills are critical as can be the welcome. Mats for fortnight in the sense has gotten a lot smaller in recent seasons.
And yeah overall it is getting a lot more toxic. So that is one big downside to the game right now number seven it hurts your social skills gaming has always carried with it the type that this was a hobby that required very little social interaction and thus. It has for the longest time been viewed in a very negative light and while many people think that playing fortnight.
Too much is hurting your social skills. Those who play the game. More than anyone else actually say otherwise take.
Dr. Lupo for example. Who has said his time spent on fortnight has introduced him to hundreds upon hundreds of new people who he interacts with consistently if anything for net is building people a bridge to interact with even more people thanks to random.
Matchmaking streams and all things of that nature. Number eights. It can lead to gaming disorder.
Yes. So. Gaming disorder.
Is actually a thing.
Basically. Long story short. Gaming disorder.
Is when you put gaming above all your other priorities. Like hanging out with your family going out to socialize etc. Etc.
When gaming is your life in your utmost priority. It is now apparently a disorder and hey some people really like fortnight’s and it could potentially lead to this quote unquote gaming disorder. Which by the way is now recognised by the world health organization.
So it is a very legitimate thing. But an oddity at that number 9. It can cause sleep loss much like fortnight distracting you from your main priorities for tonight.
Can also cause some sleep loss. But not in the way of like you choke to victory you just can’t get over it. But instead you forfeit some sleep to play some more fortnight.
But once again here. Other medias also do the same exact thing people stay up late to finish their favorite tv show or to watch a movie people stay up late to catch the news. So on and so forth for tonight.
Once again can’t be the scapegoat in a concern that is just as prominent in plenty of other areas to number 10.
It takes away from physical activity. All right so maybe to everyone else out there thumb push ups are not considered solid physical activity. But you know strong thumb muscles are key to getting more victory royales trust.
Me nasa tested it so yeah playing more fortnight could potentially lead to less physical activity. But this is where either better parenting or better self control comes into play. If parents are worried about fortnight ruining.
Their kids extracurricular activities. Those parents should be stepping in to take control of that and for players in general especially those who are older. It is always important to keep your personal health as a top priority.
Even if it means setting aside. An hour to just be out. And about plus fortnight mobile.
Is the thing you could technically walk on a treadmill and get some vik roy’s at the same time so is fortnight really that bad for you honestly i’m gonna lean towards no now i am no scientist. I’m just a guy who talks into a microphone and although. My opinion is very biased saying as i enjoy fortnight.
Most of these things that are supposedly bad with the game can be said about a lot of other games. And just things in general not just for night battle royale and instead the game is really just a scapegoat because it is so popular so long story short fortnight probably isn’t that bad for you after all that said.
