“It s komori and today. We re going to be making princess peach s crown. Crown. I started by taking the pattern pieces that were part of the simplicity pattern.
I was concerned about just by tracing the design or rather copying the designs onto the foam that they were going to end up getting distorted. So what i m going to try to do is i trimmed off some corners of the pattern piece and taped it onto my foam and now i m just going to cut through the pattern piece and the foam. And hopefully that will make everything be a little bit more accurate an alternative to this would be if you have a tracing wheel. You could just trace through the pattern onto the foam underneath taping the piece down really only worked marginally it worked for cutting out the crown.
But the rest of them that didn t so i did still have to go in with a marker. And then i just dotted around the edge. And let the ink bleed through so i could transfer the markings to the foam to cut them out and also transfer the markings to the base of the crown. Just so i have a guideline for where to put all of the little pieces on it and labeled them correspondingly as well so now.
It s time to put it together use a hot glue gun to connect the two edges of the crown. Together. Then use the hot glue gun to connect the jewel bases. And the trim pieces all around the edge of the crown.
Then coat the foam in some mod podge to seal it before painting for the jewels on the crown. The pattern recommends using some air dry clay so i used some model magic that i had lying around and you re going to sculpt them into shape. So that they are these size printed on at the pattern. Then once the mod podge air excuse me.
The clay has dried coat it with two layers of mod podge. Then we re going to go in and paint them with some acrylic paint after the acrylic paint had dried. I went over the gems with some nail polish. In in blue to give them a little bit more sparkle and shine hot glue.
The gems onto the crown. Then go over the foam. One more time with some gloss mod podge to secure the crown to the head take a scrap piece of fabric and sew a comb on to it then going to hot glue. The comb on to the crown for princess.
Peach s accessories. We re going to use pretty much the same technique that we used for making the base of the crown. I m going to cut the base pieces out of craft foam coat them in mod podge. Then paint them and make the jewels.
Just like we did for the crown and on the backs of the earrings. I m going to glue on some clip on earring bases or a pin backing on the brooch. Then coat the rest of the gold. With some gloss mod podge to give it a nice shine also coat the crown in some gloss mod podge for some shine and with that princess.
