Guys paradise there so today we have another state to decay to video for you you guys. This one should really help you out if you’re new to the or if you’re a beginner. So we’re gonna go over some basic tips and things that you definitely want to know before you play as they of decay.
So one of the most common things that you’re going to be doing in this game is looting and gathering materials and resources and items that you need and one of the best ways to go about doing that when you’re thrown into the world. Without quite knowing what to do is to go up to a scout location. These are things like radio towers raised signposts.
The top of buildings even and when you’re up at the top you want to look around zoom in on the question marks that you see around the place. And this will identify everything and actually add it to your map of the area and once things that added it makes it so much easier to find the specific things that you’re looking for this brings us to my next tip. Which is to use the map.
The map will actually show you the names of the buildings. The resources that you could potentially get from them and will give you a really good idea of where things are like vehicles and different military checkpoints and stuff. So for example.
If you’re really looking for some fuel. You might want to look around for a gas station. If you’re really looking for some medicine you might want to look around for a hospital or a clinic.
If you’re low on ammo or want some really good weapons. Then look for police stations or gun shops. If you’re looking for materials.
You want to go to industrial areas and if you’re really looking for food than grocery stores as well as many other places. We’ll have food another good tip for finding specific resources is to use the radio. You can get to the radio by pressing up on the d pad or on pc.
You go to your inventory. And then you can press e to get to the radio and this can be remapped in the settings as well when you’re in the radio menu you can go to find resources slash. People.
And then you can locate specific resources as well as other followers for your base. So another really useful tip. When you’re out and about and gathering is the top left of your screen.
When you’re in a place that can be looted you can actually see the number of available loot items that can actually be opened. This is usually around 4 or 5. It goes a little bit lower and multiplayer sometimes.
But it’s super useful to know that you don’t have to be running around looking for things you can actually see the number of available loot items that there are one final note on looting is that it is actually quite useful to go to other libraries or to make sure you check any bookshelves because you can actually get textbooks and these textbooks will offer the ability to upgrade a survivors talent or to give them a new specialization for example. If you find a mechanic’s book. A medicine book.
A crafting book a chemists book or any of the books. In the game. You can then give it to that survivor.
And it will either teach them that specialization or advance their current one as long as the book matches the same one that they already had so it’s super useful if you’re looking for a doctor or a chemist or any of these specialized characters and you don’t want to go out hunting for one just find the book and teach it to your survivors. So my next. Important tip is to use the vehicles.
The vehicles make your life so much more easier in stay of decay. However. There is some changes if you perhaps have played the first one before or if you’re new you’ll definitely want to know that you need to maintain your vehicles.
You’re going to need to carry around fuel cans to refuel them because they do run out of gas. Very very quickly when you’re driving around and as you are bumping into zombies or you’re crashing around the map your car will take a lot of damage and eventually explode. So once it starts to get dented or even smoking.
You’re definitely going to want to use a tool kit to repair it to refuel the car you want to go to the back side of the car and use the gas can that you can find in certain locations. Such as fuel stations and you need to have it on your character to repair the car you need a tool kit that you can craft from our workshop at your base or just find around the map. As well you need to go to the front of the car in order to use that tool kit.
So definitely consider using the cars. But bear in mind that you will have to maintain them the most important feature of the car is to actually know that you can put things in the trunk of the car. When you go up to the back of the car you can access the cars inventory different cars have different amounts of trunk space.
But the most important thing about this trunk space is that you can use it to store the large backpacks of resources that you get from around the map. So what you want to be doing. When you’re out on a supply run is going from house to house getting the things that you need putting them in the back of your car.
The big backpacks. That is the resources. The food beds ammo fuel and materials stuff.
The car fall take it back to base and then unload them into your base you can also upgrade the cars as you get later into the game and can get in an auto shop in your base. So that is something that you can aim for the next thing that you’re going to want to know is about the infection in this game. There are zombies with glowing red eyes these become pretty abundant at nighttime and they’re quite.
Fast and they also swarm to defend the play carts that are around the map. When these red eyed song bees attack you they will build up the infection meter beside of your screen on that character. If that meter maxes out you will get infected and then you have a real life timer before that character gets perma killed and gets transformed into a zombie.
There are a couple ways to reduce this from happening. So you’re definitely going to want to build an infirmary in your base. Once you have the infirmary you can either make a cure.
Or do infection therapy. The therapy cost three plague samples you get these as drops from the red eyed zombies and also from the plague hearts themselves with three of them you can do the therapy. And that will remove all of the bar from your active character.
But if your character is infected. You will need to make the cure. The cure will require five of these plate samples so as long as you’re on top of it you can actually cut corners and save some play examples rather than waiting.
Till. Your character is infected and treating him afterwards. Although.
Ideally you don’t want to be getting hit by those zombies regardless our next tips are going to be on the bases and outposts so in your base. You will have a limited number of available slots for things that you can build this can range from a garden to additional beds to a workshop to an infirmary and much much more it can be a little bit overwhelming when you first start. But let me tell you as you progress through the game.
You will get bigger basis with more slots available. But to begin with and as a staple for pretty much any location. You’re going to want one an infirmary this will help treat be infected and injured in your base.
And you’re also going to want a workshop. The workshop is super useful for making things like suppressors bombs. Lures and other things are super super helpful so if i was you i would focus on making an infirmary and a workshop as your go to buildings later on down the line.
You might want to look into the gardens for more passive resource income and then we have the outposts you have a limited number of outposts slots. And so you’re going to want to use them. Wisely.
Because outposts do a multitude of things so. An outpost is basically a building or an area that you have completely cleared out. And then claimed as your outpost.
This makes it into a safe area and also a resupply point. So you could position these around your base to make a wider safe area. So that things are going to be attacking you quite as often or spawning around you quite as often.
But you also want to consider what you’re getting from these outposts you could have passive resource income. You can have power water radio cooldowns supplied to your base with the different types of outposts. So it’s react to you what you’re looking for if you’re looking for a more safety or more specific things from these outposts another super.
Important thing that you’re going to want to know about and keep on top of is your community management. The characters as you play them will get tired. They’ll get injured they lose maximums health and maximum stamina as you passively play with them.
This almost forces you’d have to go on a rotation through the people in your base. So what you’re going to learn is that each character is going to need to be played as the others are resting. Don’t leave a character outside for too long because eventually he’s gonna get so tired.
He’s gonna have no stamina and he won’t be able to run or fight so definitely keep on top of this you can go back to your base you can go to a bed or you can press n. And then you can change through the characters that you have and play the different waters. And it’s also good to do this to level up all the different characters and give them guns and good weapons.
Because the npc’s that are guarding your base will use the weapons. That you have equipped them. With so.
If you give them all rifles. Then your whole base is going to be protected by everyone using rifles then finally we’re going to talk about the multiplayer because it’s definitely got a few things that you’re going to want to know when people. Join your session.
The loot in every building becomes individual and split so if they lose something it’s their container and if you lose something it’s your container. You can trade by dropping things on the floor and giving them to each other or putting them in the back of a car and trading them that way. But the actual loot that you find is individually spread so when you go up to a house inside that house is going to be loot containers that are going to be glowing for either you or your teammates and this is separated by their color.
So if you have four people in your session. Then there’s going to be four different colors assigned to each other and the different colors are going to be tied to the different loot crate’s that you’re going to be able to actually get the loot that they pick up is going to be individual to them and they’re going to take that back into their campaign and the actual resources that they find they’re going to give to you and you can take them back to your base. So while you’re in someone else’s save you can go and get xp you can go and loot items.
The resources will go to the hosts. However when you return back to your own save from being in someone else’s and helping them you will get a bonus of resources and other things for helping them out so in terms of helping other people. It’s definitely worth it and in terms of people joining your own lobby.
