Today, bluevelvetrestaurant.com would like to introduce to you Ride Against A Virtual Partner On The Garmin Edge 510. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“You ve ever been out cycling with somebody who is perhaps a little bit faster faster than you are you ll know that constantly trying to catch them up is great way to improve your own speed and fitness. But what about if you re billy no mates. And you have no one to ride with well you can always use the virtual partner. That s inside the garmin edge 520 computer.
So with this to work. We actually need to activate it so to do that we come down to the settings icon and we have to set it for every activity profile that we have so let s go to activity profiles and let s imagine we want the virtual partner in the base ride profile. So it s coming to base ride and training pages..
And let s scroll down and here. We have the virtual partner let s go into that switch it on and now. It s set so let s come back to the home screen. So let s imagine now we re going out for a ride.
So we click the big ride button and start the timer running so it s now recalibrating the elevation to my location vacuum ii. And as you can see the time is running. But obviously because i m not going anywhere the distance isn t going up..
So let s tap on the main data. Screen and scroll across to the virtual partner and see how we re doing here. We go and here we are with the virtual part then that s the virtual partner at the top and there s me looking fantastic at the bottom. But unfortunately.
I m not doing too well i m lagging behind this is how far i am behind and how slow i am behind the the rider and what sort of time i need to catch up now all my measurements are in metric. Because my system is set to metric. But if yours is in imperial these will all be in miles per hour and and be imperial..
So we can slow the virtual rider down a bit by clicking on this tab. Here and at the. Moment the he or she is riding at 116. Kilometres.
An hour. But if we start to find that we re catching up. We can always speed them up a bit more by pressing on the plus tab increasing their speed..
So this way we can get quite a workout. And hopefully improve our own fitness and speed and all thanks to the ” ..
