“Hi guys it s n i m here with the iphone 7 vs iphone 6s 6s in a selfie camera comparison of the front facing cameras if you ve got iphone 6s you may be wondering is it worth me upgrading so my first question is can you guess. Which ones which iphone 7 or iphone 6s on this beautiful. But chilly day saturday morning here in the uk. I ll give you a second and we ll give the cameras a little bit of time here to quickly adjust to changing light as i pan around we ve got the iphone 7 a 7 megapixel shooter with a f stop of 22.
On the left hand side. And we ve got the iphone 6s with a 5 megapixel. Shooter and an f stop of 22. Again on the right hand side.
Did you guess correctly what i m noticing from the screens. Here is that the iphone 6s seems to have a tighter shot the iphone 7 seems to be getting more of the image into the camera. I ll need to watch this back. But does that sound about right to you so we ll come up close here.
See if we can pick up much detail on my face and on my stubble and certainly. I think 6s seems to be a lot closer to my face. Even. Though both devices are the same distance away and picking up.
Quite a lot of detail. I m going to say not quite as detailed as on the screen of the iphone 7 but definitely definitely detailed indeed what do you guys think we ll just do another pan around here while the sun decides to hide. But yeah iphone 7 seems to have a wider angle compared to the iphone success seems to have a little bit better color as well if you look at the shade of my skin and the iphone 7 in comparison to the iphone 6s seems a little bit lighter and colorful rather than a little bit darker on the 6s. But let s take some selfies now it gets a little bit harder to tell the difference.
But if you look carefully at the stubble on my face on the image on the left. It tends to be a little bit more defined than the image on the right hand side the right hand side image. Does also have a reddish tint to it compared to the slightly yellow tint. Along the left hand side making me look.
A little bit paler. And this is particularly given away by that light bulb shining through the glass in the doorway behind as i say slightly reddish on the image on the right slightly yellowish on the image on the left and you ve got the iphone 7 on the left with the iphone 6s along the right hand side and with those megapixels as i said the iphone 5 iphone 5 iphone 6s as a 5 megapixel shooter with the iphone 7 having a 7 megapixel shooter. So when we crop in here. We get plenty amounts of detail.
But again this just gives us a greater depth of what we already know reddish image on the right hand side more detail on the image on their left. And if you look at my eyeballs. There they tend to be more defined on the image on the left. But the color reproduction seems to be a little bit more better along the right hand side.
Where you can see that my eye is actually brown instead of a very dark brown on the image on their left. Let s move on to hdr mode. Both images here taken from each respective handset with hdr mode. Now i really would be interested how many of you actually use hdr mode.
Do let me know in the comments section down below. But if you look at the iphone 7 image along the left hand side. I think this looks slightly better than the regular image without hdr because the color representation is better if you look at my eyeballs. There they actually appear brown instead of a very dark brown.
Almost black ish and obviously while still retaining the detail let me along the right hand side more of the same pretty much i already tint and and that detail is not quite defined now for those low light selfies. We ve got the lights off on the curtains. Drawn and you ll notice right away the image along the right hand side from the iphone. 6 has has more noise in it still has a reddish tint even in low light.
But definitely more noise and less detail compared to the image along the left from the my phone. At 7 00. Still has quite a lot of detail. They re obviously not quite retained in low light.
But definitely not as much noise. Compared to the iphone 6s. We ve used a front facing flash here and the image along the right hand side here from the iphone. 6s has seemed to have lost a reddish tint great amount of detail even in low lighting conditions.
But obviously not quite as detailed as a iphone 7 along the left hand side which seems to be doing a good job at both the detail and the color balance even in low lighting. Conditions they were having guys that was a selfie camera comparison of the front facing cameras the iphone 7 versus an iphone 6s do let me know in the comment section down below. Which one you prefer which one looked more accurate in detail and if you ve already got an iphone 6s. My advice is not to upgrade keep your money saving till next year.
When it s a 10 year anniversary of the iphone. There may be more bells and whistles on that device to come. But as ever anything else hit me up in the comment section down below please. Like subscribe and tag along on social media at in amber.
4. Thanks. Watching have a wicked. lack bars on top and a bottom.
So there are two ways to do this either you can go to effects and just type it cropp just drag it over to your adjustment layer go over to your fat controls and over here. We have the crop and now you could just type in something here at the top and the bottom and boom. You have these letter boxes. What i like to do is i found these black bars.
Png files. So for different ratios you get a ton of png. Which you can simply drag and drop to your timeline so right now we in 1080. So let s choose this one.
And there we go you got the black bars. It s up to you what you want to use i m lazy and i like to drag and drop and everything is done so this already looks really cinematic. But what s missing right now is music if i saw the footage it really reminded me of the netflix original series dark. If you haven t watched it already he should because it s awesome and and i took so much inspiration from this and there s this artist called agnes obey.
And she did the soundtrack for this series and here s the song familiar. So let s just drag this onto your timeline for sure now you should match your clips to your audio. But for this one. I just keep it like that so i really love that soundtrack.
It s so intense and peaceful. You should check her out and spotify. Okay. So now we got the music.
What else film grain. So almost in every movie. You have seen that there is a slightly amount of grain on the image. You would get this look if you re shooting.
An high budget cinema cameras. But we want to fake it now so i got some film going over here from grain zilla. So this one s not free. But if you just type in free film grain into google you will find some grain you can use also well i like this one a lot because it super organic and it just looks cool so we want to drag this above all the other stuff.
We have in our timeline. So now you see it s too short. So. I m just going to hold down my alt key drag it to the right and it gets copied and you can do this as often as you want so then we have to resize it because this is 4k film grain and we are on an 1080 timeline so select all right click schedule frame size and then again right click and nest so you get an acid sequence.
Which you can crop as you want it okay oh. I just made a mistake. The black ball should be on top for sure so let s drag the black bars and the nested sequence is our film grain and now we have to put the blend mode to overlay put this one to 70 that looks great yeah. So that s all with film grain.
It s just a subtle thing to do with your footage. But it gives you so much more of these organic film camera looks so let s take a look at this yeah. It looks nice. So there s something else i like to add and post and for this one.
I m creating a new adjustment layer putting this above all and especially. If you re shooting on a sony camera like the a 6500 sometimes you re or in most cases. Your 1080p image looks very soft so therefore we want to do some post sharpening. Let s type in unsharp mask over here drag this to your new adjustment layer and i d like to set this to 25 the radius to 0 5.
You re not able to tell this right now. But if you watch your video in full resolution. You will notice that it gets a bit sharper. And i wouldn t do this in 4k.
But in 1080. It s totally fine and it looks super nice okay. So the last step is motion blur so that s the thing you don t have to add. But i liked you because it gives you another tiny amount of that cinematic look so i found this plug in which is called a real smart motion.
Blur rs and b. This also is not free. I m not in a collaboration with them you can try to find some free plug ins for this or maybe. There s another way then feel free to share it in the comments for others.
But i like to use this one and we will drag this over to your adjustment layer on top and i leave everything at default and so this one just adds some motion blur between your frames. So it looks even more cinematic. So that s already it let s go to render this one. So here.
We are i made myself a cmg preset here. So now you may be wondering why i m rendering in 1440 instead of 1080 and the reason for this is simply that youtube has limitations when it comes to bit rates and if your rendering in 1080. I think the maximum bitrate is about 12 megabit or something like this so i m choosing this resolution because it simply looks better if you upload it to youtube let s on frame rate. 24 everything at default rendered maximum depth should be checked so so bitrate settings.
I choose vbr 2 pass that simply means that the program goes through all your footage two times and as a target bitrate that use 30 maximum bitrate is 50. Yeah. Nice okay use maximum render quality for sure. And that s it export video export audio should be checked and that s all hit export and that s it so that s basically all i do if you got something to add just feel free to put it in the comments on maybe some people can learn from you because most of the time.
I still don t know what i m even talking about so feel free to share. It and if you want to get those cinematic lots for your sony a7. 3. You can use this this called call to get a 30 off.
I hope you liked the video. If you have any questions put them in the comments. So all the stuff. The plugins.
I use in this video linked in the description make sure to check this out ok. So now let s just roll the clip. I just edit it choose one step two step can be hard down a slippery line. Lets you forget what keeps your heart on the coldest night.
You re never gonna have the answers to everything more the one thing. More. There are missing. You ve got in a bundle hi sound.
Now i i on sell my time. So i hope your time tai began to fall. Then i went out someone in the help you did it yourself to feel the things you never felt you need to keep that part if you say we then i renounce it within the help you get yourself to feel the things you never felt you need to keep that part if you say i d say.
