Do you want to know how to fix xbox one microphone not working and your headphone jack not working??? With your headphone jack, make sure to firmly plug in your headset. Sometimes its just not plugged in far enough. Also, make sure you have the latest firmware update on your controller. If you are using a USB mic, make sure to plug the USB dongle in far enough also.
When you have your headset plugged in. Press the xbox button, open the side menu. Now scroll down to the speaker ICON. Make sure your mic is turned on and the headset volume is turned up loud enough. Check out mic monitoring also, make sure your mic isn’t muted and there is audio from your mic coming through to your headset! Sometimes, you have your mic mute by accident.

Everyone this is tim from your six studios today in this video. I’m going going to show you how to fix or set up your headset on your xbox. So let’s go ahead and jump in the video right now music so fixing or setting up your microphone on your xbox.
One can be relatively easy depending on what the problem is sometimes it’s just a few settings that are just on selected that can be the issue. Now if you are having a problem with one of these headsets. Where you just plug it in directly to the controller.
I have my headset right here that i’m going to plug in make sure your headset is properly plugged in sometimes.
When you have it plugged in just like this. It’s not actually all the way in and it seems like it just like that what you need to do is plug. It all the way in press.
Firmly and make sure that is snug sometimes. It’s just not plugged in all the way. And it’s not working because of that reason now other times you are using like a usb headset just like this and it can be the same issue sometimes the usb you’re plugging into may not work.
So.
If you’re using like a usb dongle with a wireless headset like this this one has a light on it when you plug it in the light will go ahead and light up the light is not lighting up. There is some kind of connection issue. Go ahead and try a different usb.
Port and snugly fit that into the usb port. Now let’s jump over to my xbox. One and go through some of the different settings so to know if your xbox.
One headset is properly plugged in or not press.
The xbox button and scroll all the way down on this list. Here and then go over to the right to audio. Now.
If your headset is not properly plugged in when you go to this section. Everything will be grayed out so you’ll know right away. If it’s not working so let’s plug in my headset.
Here and this should light up in blue.
Now the first option on the top make sure. This is turned on then turn up your headset volume accordingly make sure it’s high enough so you can actually hear sound then go to your headset mixer here now if you want to hear the game sound more move this over to the left and if you want to hear your party chat. More move this over to the right so i tend to keep about 75 percent right about there and here’s an interesting one if you want to make sure your microphone is actually working you can talk into it right here and turn up mic monitoring all the way and put your microphone close to your mouth.
And you should be able to hear yourself talk with mic monitoring turn up so talking to your mic and you’ll hear yourself inside your headset. So that’s a good way to know if it’s working now. The next thing.
We can do is go over to the options menu here by moving this over to the right.
And then going down to settings. Now. Let’s go over to the right under general and go to volume and audio output.
And then go down to party chat and output. You may have this set to speakers by accident make sure you have it set to headset and speakers or headset for it to actually output the audio to your headset. So you may actually have this just on a wrong setting.
And that’s the reason.
Why you’re not getting any audio to your headset. So i typically keep it just on headset and speakers. So in case.
I want to use the speaker at some point in time. Even if i don’t have the headset plugged in i can hear my audio. If you are having problems hearing.
People in a party.
Let’s go ahead and create just a party chat for right now and go into the party options. When we scroll down to the party options make sure mu. Everyone is not selected otherwise you won’t be able to hear people speak to you and they won’t be able to hear you so make sure this option is unmuted and make sure you’re not accidentally like in game chat by going to party chat right here.
If you are in game chat. No one will be able to hear you so make sure you’re in party chat. As well.
Let’s go to the audio settings and make sure everything is turned on for the headset.
Otherwise you won’t hear anyone and one last thing with the party options make sure you’re not muted yourself. By going to your profile going down and make sure it says mute if it is muted like this you’ll have a speaker icon with a cross through it kind of and you won’t be able to speak to people and they won’t hear you then at all whatsoever. So make sure this is unmuted and if you are trying to use your microphone under the capture and share section.
There is one thing you need to be aware of and that is you cannot capture your voice under the capture section. What you would need to do is add in your voice under the upload studio after you have recorded your clips. So be aware of that if you are trying to record and capture your voice.
