Everybody and welcome back to the channel. The big question going around at the minute minute in the gaming world should children be playing in fortnight more importantly. The battle section of the game.
So those parents are people watching this who don’t know much about four night. It’s actually again split into two sections. We will be discussing in this video. And if it’s appropriate for children to play so first up the battle royale mod is free to play meaning simply.
There are no upfront costs. So you can just download it and play without paying a penny. There are cosmetic items.
Which can be purchased with real money though. But these are by no means necessary and will not give you an advantage in the game. So parents and guardians out there might find this and see it as an attractive offer with it being a free game.
And it definitely looks appealing to the family friendly market with its cartoon style adding to its free to play appeal. Keep that family friendly word in mind for later.
So if you are considering downloading it for your children here is the big one is it appropriate for my child’s age group let’s look at the esrb rare in this is the rating given to all games and and categorizes it to what age group. It is suitable for the esrb rating for fortnight is team this covers both of its mods and is therefore deemed suitable for anybody over the age of 13. So let’s have a quick look at how the game has affected this written.
It’s a cartoon style player vs player game. It is centered around weapons and defeating your opponents base done so in a very comic. Even though weapons are based on real world.
Counterparts. There’s nothing real about them they are easy to use and the effects are very cartoon in style.
The explosions are dramatized and then there’s the consumables like traps launch pads and treasure chests. None of them real life like are all in anywhere on defeating an opponent. There is no god of bloody after effects they simply vanished and that player goes back to the main menu.
There’s no zoomed in replay or anything glorifying. It and you simply move on as the play area shrinks in size. There’s nothing in this game.
Which your child would not see in any mainstream cartoon series or animated movie. This would also be the age allowed to purchase the game in a shop.
But with it been downloadable this is where the problem starts unless you have parental controls setup on your game system of choice. Anybody can download any game no matter what the rating personally in my opinion i think the age rating is correct nobody under the age of 12 should be playing this game. It’s not appropriate in terms of content and as much fun as it may be it’s geared to a more mature audience you can choose to spend more money and time in the game.
If they wish now just to put this into context. When i was about 12 or 13 years old was when i got into playing video games. Just like the original grand theft auto.
This 2d pixel animated top down shooter was rated 18 and realistically i shouldn’t have been playing it but the unrealistic aspect of the game numbed the experience. And me and my friends had a great time taking it in turns whilst actually at each other’s houses long before online player and chat became a thing so i was still interacting personally with my friends in real life.
This is a far cry. Though from today’s gaming environment. Where you don’t have to leave your house to play with your friends risen.
Another issue of how much time should my child be playing fortnight. There’s plenty of studies and news online as to how much is too much. But here are my force if you as an adult play this game.
And you allow your teenage child to play it too why not make it a family friendly experience and take it in turns to play the game. This will limit the time in the game.
And allows you to set realistic boundaries of when it’s time to finish this will prevent such things as i can’t come for tea. I’m in the last 10 or just one more game coming from your child as they sit alone in their bedrooms. Become part of the experience.
And hopefully. This will prevent such issues which have gained mainstream media attention recently so we go back to the original question should your child be playing for tonight. The answer all depends on their age.
But if you follow the esrb guidelines and manage the usage responsibly. There’s no reason.
Why they shouldn’t it’s not a game that needs shutting down because it’s creating monsters in society. Much like the backlash to the gaming world as a whole as received for many years. It’s just a game for fun it’ll have its time at the top and others will come after it much like those did before there’s plenty of people who play these games and have normal lives.
And there’s no reason for anybody to have such an alarm of a such a fun and crazy game. So there we go just a quick round of covering the recent news and the past couple of days and weeks covering how much time children spend playing a fortnight battle royale and if parents should be allowing them to play the game hopefully. This was insightful in a little way for those especially.
