‘s up guys my name is dean aka. The blue crusader and welcome back to to the channel. Nowadays there are hundreds of different games to choose from that we play some of them burn a hole in our wallets.
But sometimes free games can be just as good as the ones that we buy with lockdown in place right now in many places around the world and a lot of time in our hands. I’m sure a lot of us are looking for new games to play in this video. I’m going to be talking about the top 10 free to play games in 2020.
That you can check out and play right now to pass the time without further ado. Let’s get into the video number 10 league of legends. Taking the number 10 spot is a classic that we’ve all played arguably the most popular or one of the most popular games of all time in terms of online games on pc league of legends.
Always manages to maintain its popularity from year to year and for anyone who watches live streams on twitch league is always king and viewership on the website. Not only does the game have a strong esports scene. But it still receives a whole lot of updates and regular maintenance to keep things afloat.
If you’re interested in top down games or moba games. Aka multiplayer online battle arena titles. Then league is a great game to play my league days are mostly behind me for the most part.
But i still sometimes pick it up and play it a few times a year or every few months. Although i played the game for four or five years back when i was a teenager with my friends and it was a bunch of fun. There’s a lot of different modes on the game.
One being the all random or mid aram. Which puts all players on one bridge to fight with a random champion character that the game chooses for you there’s player versus bots. Which is a mode for the more casual players who don’t want to try to play versus real tryhards.
There’s the standard draft and blind pick modes. Which are pvp and finally the ranked for people who like chasing a placement on the leaderboard. It’s a good game to waste time or if you want something to play casually.
If you’re watching something at the same time number nine paladins next up is paladins by high res studios. If you love first person arena shooting games. Paladins might be super enjoyable for you paladins is very similar in regard to overwatch and valorance.
And it offers a very large series of heroes to choose from with different abilities. There’s multiple different maps. And it’s a game that you can play hours on without getting bored.
I’ve personally played both overwatch and paladins in the past and i enjoyed both equally. Although i didn’t really tend to play overwatch for very long for players who can’t afford overwatch or who want a humble alternative paladins is just as good in my opinion. And is completely free.
And the range of characters to pick should offer something for everyone number eight hearthstone card games have become increasingly more popular in the recent years with breakout title hearthstone from blizzard being the game to bring the genre to popularity well with newer titles like the elder scrolls legends or gwent. The witcher card game being released in the past few years. Too there’s no better time to get into card games online if you’re a fan of physical card games with a deck of cards or board games then that hobby will easily translate to the virtual card games.
Me personally i’ve enjoyed playing cards in the past. Although it wasn’t something i did a lot. But i really liked hearthstone and how it plays the reason.
Why hearthstone was really easy to pick up for me is that it’s based on characters from the blizzard games like world of warcraft. Which really caught my attention since i’ve been an avid wow player in the past you can play your favorite wow characters and build a card deck to battle the computer or real players online. Collect legendary cards and do quests.
And it’s a great game. All around that i think anyone can enjoy number seven team fortress. 2.
One title. That’s always maintained a decent level of popularity over the years is team fortress. 2 from valve.
This is one of my favorite games of all time and since its release back in 2007. It still maintained its place as one of the top played games on steam. Although it doesn’t really receive as many updates.
Nowadays there’s still some annual updates and the game is in a good place. The community keeps the game alive. And there’s always custom maps on the workshop to play and a lot of things that you can still do this game is great for players who love to trade and collect items on steam as they can go on trade servers to trade weapons and skins.
You can play casual modes like capture. The flag on classic maps. Like 2 4.
Or dust bowl. Some of my personal favorites or push. The cart mode called gold rush.
Where you push a car across the map. Whilst the other team attacks. It there’s tons of game modes to play on tf2 and it’s very hard to get bored of it one of my personal favorite modes though on this game which is unique is the man vs machine mode.
This is one that i played a lot back in the day with friends and you basically have to fight ai controlled boss. It’s players versus robots and each round gets harder with mini bosses and different types of robots which mirror the standard tf2 classes. There’s a lot of classes to play on tf2 like the pyro who has a flamethrower the super speedy scout who can double jump or the spy who goes full espionage mode and can go invisible and take out the opponents with a knife number six realm royale.
One of my favorite battle royale titles. That doesn’t get as much love as it deserves is realm right out. Now.
I’ve not played this game in a long time. But realm. Royale is basically battle royale meets medieval fantasy.
This br game is very similar to the experience that you’ll have in fortnite. The game is basically fortnite in an old fashioned setting it plays well feels well and has good graphics you can wield magical staffs rifles swords and there’s different classes which you can play on different spells and there’s multiple types of weapon pickups of different qualities that go all the way up to legendary which can be equipped this game is a very unique concept and is super. Enjoyable.
There’s always a new battle pass with new skins and emotes to earn every season. A ranked mode and a decent level of players still keeping the game alive number. 5 smite smite the battleground of the gods is a perfect game for those of us that love mythology and ancient gods.
If you’re a fan of norse mythology or greek and roman tales of old this game is super fun you can play as different gods and mythological characters infamous from stories in history for an example you can play thor. Which will be awesome for marvel fans medusa achilles aerys hades and even characters like king arthur this game is very reminiscent of league of legends. It basically feels like a third person version of league of legends.
Which is actually really refreshing as it blends both these styles into a really unique game. It feels so good to fly in the air as thor or freeze. People.
As medusa this game is really enjoyable and fun to play for me you can unlock all the characters over time by playing progressively or via just purchasing them one time to unlock every single god in the game. Which is pretty cheap for the amount of characters. Which you can get number four fortnite battle royale.
Everyone’s heard of fortnite battle royale at this stage. And it’s erupted in popularity since 2018 to 2019 and although it’s quieted down a little bit in terms of growth. It still remains popular to this day.
It’s one of the most popular br games. And that’s probably because it’s always receiving updates new battle passes changes to the map. New weapons and the item shop is always stocked with new or rehashed skins for players to collect recently fortnite also released a marvel themed season.
Where players can play as iron man thor. She hulk captain america and other awesome characters like drew and black panther is probably coming to the game. Too fortnite always have these crazy collaborations that keeps the game fresh for example they had a travis scott concert in fortnight which i personally watched.
And it was pretty crazy and cool how these two things could just merge together fortnite for me got really tough. When people just got crazy good at it. And that’s when the enjoyability just kind of drain from it for me.
But if you want to play casually you can play creative mode to build awesome maps and mini games and play them with friends. Or others. Or you can play the 20 vs.
20. Casual mode. Where you can respawn.
This is usually what i play when i play the game. Because i don’t really want to play against the try hards on fortnite for players wanting to squad up with friends. Then squads or duos is the way to go or solo for people wanting to try hard.
And there’s also a ranked mode. Where you can get points for playing there’s fresh new modes along with that too and other modes like playground to play versus others online and mess around number three count strike global offensive cs go still remains the most popular competitive fps title around and it’s played by everyone there’s high requests on this channel for me to make some more cs go videos in the future. So that’s why i decided to feature the game on this list.
There are a lot of people around the world still playing csgo and it remains popular just due to its consistency there’s some annual updates. Bringing new high quality community maps into the competitive and casual map pool and every two years or so. There’s a new operation.
Which is a type of battle pass where players can do challenges to level up a coin that they can display on their profile. The trading and skin scene is still super huge for anyone who’s a collector or trader and there’s a lot that you can do you can one view on your friends on the many awesome custom maps on the cs go workshop by the community you can play competitive to level up your rank casual just to socially chill out and play with others or wing man. If you have a best friend that you want to play with in ranked mode.
But you don’t want to play with a full team along with that there’s also the gun game mode arms race or death. Match. Which lets you respawn and it’s a lot more fun than playing a competitive game out csgo has been infamous for cheaters in the past.
But if you have an account in good standing with your phone number and the prime mode enabled. It’s less of a concern it used to be and it can be quite fun to play legit in competitive mode. Without the worry of dying to aimbars number two call of duty warzone call of duty is one of the biggest franchises in gaming.
And there’s always a new game out every single year. It’s almost hard to keep up with the amount of games that they churn out nowadays. But for the most part they always seem to hit the right spot 2019 was a good year with call of duty modern warfare.
As it’s one of the best card titles. Yet and it’s fast paced action and good graphics. Didn’t disappoint the base game you’ll have to buy but in this video.
I’m talking about the battle royale segment of the game that anyone can download for free it’s a beefy download it’s over 100 gigabytes though so you’ll need big space to download. It warzone is super fast paced. There’s tons of weapons you can use custom classes abilities like uavs airdrops vehicles.
You can drive and so many more things to do it even adopts the apex legends type respawn system. But in a fresh way in other words when you die instead of just getting respawned by a ship like apex legends. You have to do a 1v1 versus other dead players in the gulag and whoever wins that duel gets to respawn in the big map for another try the game’s super fun to play with friends.
I’m one of the best. And most popular batteries right now. I played this game for a solid one or two months and found it super enjoyable it does what black ops.
4 tried to do with the blackout mode. But he does it a whole lot better number one apex legends taking the number one spot on this list is apex legends apex holds a special place for me. Because it’s one of my favorite games.
Although i’m playing it less nowadays as it’s not so much fun to play solo. But that just goes for every single multiplayer game. But i still got a few hundred hours out of apex and a lot of fun along with that apex brings the fast paced action from titanfall 2.
But into a battle royale concept with different legend characters that have a different kits for abilities for example. The character octane can run super fast or jump high using a jump pad. Wraith can disappear or teleport.
Her teammates lifeline can heal. Everyone or call down an airdrop of loot for her team gibraltar can shield himself and his allies and drop an airstrike and much more there’s a lot of legends right now and there’s always a new one every single season. There’s a new season every three or four months with a new battle pass new weapon new story missions and a lot of skins and awards to earn.
There’s a duos and trios mode as well as a trio’s ranked mode that you can play. Although there’s not yet a solo game type my personal favorite mode is the newer firing range mode. Where you can choose any gun along with attachments and 1v1 your friends.
I always like doing 1v1s on this map. Especially when i get toxic and rage quit from a normal game.
