“Everybody my name is nick seeum. And this is a video. Where i want to to tell you guys a little bit of a story. But i also want to a little bit of feedback to blizzard as a quote new player now what i mean by that is.
Recently i made a us wow. Account to go along with my eu wow. Account and what that means is pretty much on my us account. I have started over i have no looms.
I have no mounts no pets nothing and i admit. It s been pretty cool it s like a breath of fresh air like and seeing all the achievements and you know getting the new pets again and buying maus and all that stuff. I think. It s a lot of fun to be honest.
So i just like to give a little bit of feedback as to what the experience has been like and maybe get some of your thoughts on what i m about to say in the conclusions that i have gotten so first and foremost. I bought the game. All the way up to legion and going in as a new player. I was of course given an option to do a level 100 character boost now in order to really get the full experience of being completely new to the game.
I decided to play as a feral druid because i have only ever played as a balance druid and i ve done a little bit of tanking as a druid a long time ago. But i ve never done feral. So i wanted it to be completely new and fresh for me i jumped in. I was forced into the clash trial thing which i m not sure if you re always forced into it if you do a character boost like even off the blizzard store.
I don t know but i was forced into it i was forced to do it i learned the rotation. And then immediately you go into the broken shore event. Where you see king very and die and all that crap and you eventually move into your artifact quest line overall. I felt that the introduction to the game as a level 100 character was incredibly incredibly good with the whole boat.
The tutorial. The broken shore cinematics going out onto the broken isles. It was incredibly incredibly good and if i looked at the game from the standpoint of a new player. I found it to be immersive.
I found it to be fun and enjoyable. And i thought it was really cool pretty much it would be something that i would recommend to a friend who had never played well and i would be pretty confident that he or she might enjoy that whole intro experience. The only criticism that i could give is a new player probably isn t going to know what the hell..
A tank. Healer or dps spec. Is and so. I do recommend that maybe.
There is more of an explanation for new players. Like okay. Hey you just picked. A feral druid.
You might you know be aware that this is a dps class. And explain what that is a little bit maybe. There was a small piece of information that did explain that but i didn t see it. But you know i could have just missed it so whatever someone can correct me in the comments section.
But i definitely didn t see it on the boat tutorial sort of area. However there is a downside to this that i want to address and it is the fact that i think many players that try to play the game for the first time probably won t go with that character boost. I m sure blizzard has all the stats behind the scenes that could either confirm or deny. This theory.
But speaking for myself. If you were to put a brand new mmo in front of me like let s say alano elder scrolls online and then you said okay do you want to start as a level 1 character or like a level 100 character. I don t know what the level cap is in that game. I apologize.
But whatever you get the idea you want to start as a level 1 character or a level 100. I m probably going to go with the level 1 character because i m going to assume that the level 100 character is going to have a ton of abilities and spells and it s probably going to be kind of complicated because it s a higher level player. And i m going to be dealing with higher difficulty content. And so on and so forth.
That is what i would assume you know i think i might feel like i would be a little overwhelmed. If i went with the higher level character first and this is where the con in the system lies. I believe that a new player would instead go with the level one approach and they would be greeted to a very empty and very linear and simple questing system. Which might turn them away from the game.
One thing that i really wish blizzard. What address is the early game for level one characters. I ve talked about it in previous videos and this experience has only like like it s just solidified..
My opinions that blizzard for example should introduce factions and groups that a level one player could interact with that have some connection with the max level content. So for example maybe a faction like the the who s of what s it s you know like you can meet them at level one. And you can gain reputation with them as you level. And they will actually be a relevant faction at max level.
And maybe their rewards for you. As a leveling player could be something like an heirloom item. Or maybe. A cool mount or a cool set of transmog items.
Whatever just creating like these little objectives that new players can move towards so it feels like they re working towards something greater than just their character. I also have a very strong opinion still that blizzard really needs to look at professions at low levels. Because i ve been leveling a night elf warrior on the side he is currently level 30 and professions are completely useless they are completely useless. If you re a low level player.
There is at no point any need to make anything as a blacksmith. There is at no point any need to go to the auction house and sell copper because you don t need money while you level up professions are completely completely irrelevant at low levels. And i hate that as someone that s been playing since back. In vanilla wow.
When professions were a big part of leveling. They were really something that you needed i really hate how like profession have become so neglected in regards to you know the new player experience because i think professions add another layer of depth to the game. Because you re not just leveling up your character you re leveling up your professions and your skills. And so on and so forth.
So i think that is something that blizzard should look at and i ve also come into the opinion of this blizzard has introduced a lot of cross realm technology lately in world of warcraft and some people love it some people hate it some people think. It s a good system. Some people think it s a bad in my opinion. I would love to see blizzard just like instead of doing this cross realm stuff just merged servers together like merge them together.
So that players like when i see someone in the open world which i do see them in the open world due to the cross realm stuff. It s not like the world is completely empty. But when i do see a player. I would like them to be on my server able to join my guild and so on and so forth because i think it would be such a shame for example.
If i was a new player. And i met a cool person while questing or doing whatever and we i had to like transfer over to his server and restart just to play with him or her or whatever. And there are other things i could say to about like you know the dungeon finding system again..
I do think. It s a little too easy. I think they could buff. It up a little bit to make it more engaging.
Whereas it rather than i mean i don t even have looms. So i m just like. But i m still like just plowing through everything in a dungeon. So i think.
It s a little too easy still and i know these early dungeons are supposed to be kind of easy. But it s a little too easy i mean like come on like new players aren t stupid. Like you can you can give them a little bit more of like a challenge. So i do have that at that opinion.
Which of course you know some of you might disagree with and that s fine. But but overall like you know don t don t take my you know criticisms that i ve been saying for the past you know or whatever don t take that as me saying that it was it s been a terrible experience. It s actually been a lot of fun. It s been a again a breath of fresh air and i ve really enjoyed it.
But i definitely have enjoyed more of the max level stuff and blizzards approach to getting you into the broken isles and leveling your character and your artifact weapon that felt really engaging and really fun. And there were a lot of players that i saw and whatnot and i would love to see blizzard really take that dedication of creating a really engaging intro to the game that you get if you like play. The boosted character and i would love if they applied that passion into the level 1 plus. Experience for new players coming into the game.
And all that said as a final note. I know some of you might say well nyx in world of warcraft isn t a growing game. Anymore like there s not new players coming to the game. And that s that s i mean i stream on twitch.
I read tons of comments every day on youtube. And there are so many people that like come onto my twitch channel. And they say you know hey like i m new to the game can you give me some advice. I see comments on my videos.
Saying hey like your videos inspired me to play wow. But i m not really sure exactly what i m doing. But you know i still enjoy your videos and i think they re funny..
There are you know people who are interested in wow. Young people older people even people that want to come back to the game that haven t played in a long time. And so i personally really just want their first impressions experience. Whether they play the boosted character or a low level character.
I want that experience to be good and healthy and addicting and to be just fun so those are my opinions as a whole if you go down like the boosted character route. The game is going to be so much fun. It s engaging the quest lines are great you really do feel like a druid. A mage you know whatever class you choose i mean you really get introduced to the fantasy of warcraft.
But if you go down the level one route which i think most new players will do the game feels very slow and stale and you just i could see myself getting bored of the game so fast if like i went down the level one route because i was intimidated by getting a max level character right from the beginning or an almost max level character. So you know and i might generate the opinion of oh. If this is it like you know just run and kill wolves. And you know equip a chess piece every now and then that might turn me off from the game.
So yes. So my criticism is blizzard. I want to see the same passion that you guys have put into the boosted character experience. And i want to see that passion appear in the level 1 character experience.
Because i think i would be good for new players. But anyway guys those are my thoughts. What do you guys think for those of you that might be new to the game. Maybe you ve recently started.
This is really a chance for you to say this is what i think this is what i ve thought of the game so far as i ve been playing it for those of you that have been playing for a long time like me. What do you think do you think maybe. The intro experience to the game needs a bit of work. I mean what are your thoughts as a veteran players like me.
I m just in a unique position where i ve got this like fresh account and i get it and i get to re experience everything like starting all over so it s pretty cool. It s pretty cool. But anyway guys thank you for listening and leave your comments below what do you think and i will see you all i ll see you all really soon because i m working on more video stuff and i m really excited so yep. I guess i ll see ” .
