My name is hosea. This is my friend matt from sbt and matts going going to go ahead and show us a typical installation of a throttle and steering on your ski. Now before we get started matt are there any special tools that were going to require for this job.
Or is just your basic screwdriver and socket set going to suffice. I thatll do i mean the job is pretty easy. So you dont need any type of special tools at all can you give us a rundown of the basic setup here sure well first were going to be replacing the throttle cable in order to do that were going to have to go ahead and remove the handlebar cover remove the throttle cable from the throttle lever.
Which first we have to pull the lever and then were going to have to hold onto this cable here and actually let the throttle lever extend back so you can pull the cable into this track and drop. It down and that will actually allow to pull the cable out now were to go ahead and remove the throttle cable from the throttle body.
If they extend this now. Were going to take this nut off here. And this just lets us release.
The cable from the throttle body pull it forward and up remove the bolts here and now were going to pull the throttle cable out were going to fish our throttle cable through. Were going to put our throttle cable into the throttle lever. Which were going to have to fish the inner part of the cable through first along with the grommet and to get that into place now.
Were going to put the grommet into the lever here so it seats properly were going to put the end of the throttle cable in so you have to wrap around through the channel. There and were going to push this through the bottom.
And you want to make sure you push that all the way in the end of the cable. Until it snaps into place alright. Now.
Were going to put the cable through to our throttle body and were going to attach our cable throttle cable. To the actual. Throttle body first.
Were going to tighten down the nut here put the grommet in and now the plate all right once we have our cable installed. We want to go ahead and check.
Our adjustment here which we want to make sure that we have some slack on the end here. And how we can check that is by pulling the throttle lever. Very slightly and youll be able to see the cable move just a little bit without actually moving the throttle body and opening up at all next.
Well remove the steering cable. Were going to go ahead and unhook the end of the steering cable off of the ball. Which were going to push the sleeve down and then about six inches down from there youre going to see a bracket thats going to have two bolts then were going to remove the two 10 millimeter nuts off of the bracket and then were going to remove the plate and now were going to remove the plastic nut thats inside the hole.
Thats on the other end of the cable and then were going to start fishing. It through remove the ball joint end of the cable with a ten millimeter wrench.
Now for a reinstallation of the new cable. Were going to start by putting it through the back of the hole. Where the jet pump is and were going to continue fishing through there then were going to fish it through the rest of the hole before we put our cable.
All the way up to the front by the handlebar. Were going to have to put our end on first so that we can hook. It up to the ball joint then were going to go ahead and clip.
The ball joint back on to the other end of the cable put our bracket back on and then were going to put our plastic nut thats on the other end of the cable back on and were done thanks matt for showing us how to install the steering cable and the throttle cable.
