Today, bluevelvetrestaurant.com would like to introduce to you Philips Dual 9″ Headrest Screen DVD Player for your Car (PD9012/37). Following along are instructions in the video below:
“Guys today. I m going to do a video on a portable dvd player. I i bought recently for the car is a philips 9 inch dual screen dual display this one the model number on this there s a pd 9 0. 1.
2. 17. I think it s just called 9 0. 1.
2. And they also come with a 7 inch. Yeun also by 7 inch. A model for this from this company.
But you ll notice the 7 inch. That the resolution is just not as sharp as the 9 inch. And the 9 inches is a lot better and this unit. Mainly is is for car use you have the almost what i call it master unit.
Here. Because the master. One will have the dvd player just load the dvd here ok and then the slave unit basically runs off the the picture and the audio runs off the master unit. And there s no dvd player on the other one ok now one thing to know about this unit.
Is that does not come with a remote control. So everything is access on the button itself on the unit. And if you got really young kids obviously they don t know which buttons to choose or use and the battle will have to turn around from the front and kinda lean back and and press these buttons. But uh you know once you load the the movie.
It is not an issue i mean your your movies gonna be running for a good hour or two. So it hasn t been a real issue. You got speakers here at the bottom. Here on both both sides.
And there s a pause play button ear stop button. Here and not really chairman. Sly. This and then the dvd can be taken out on top setup button the forward and reverse track menu so all the settings and the buttons are at the top the front the main ones in the front for the stop and the pause and the side you have to on off is a physical on off switch.
Okay. And there s a volume is actually a physical setting you can do on the volume. And there s a headphone jack video out jack and a dc that plugs into your car. So it makes nine volt to 12 volt.
Dc input. And the way this is mounted is it uses the headrest and it comes with a strap all this comes with it and there s a loop on the physically on the back of this unit and then a slave unit this little different speakers still in the front. But the settings are all at the bottom you can see over here. You have to the dc power video in headphone volume.
Okay the brightness and the on off switch. Okay all those other buttons at the bottom. Now the wiring the way it works is that i have the two wires running. One is the power one is the video.
But video wire and on this car. I m able to tuck it between this back panel so kind of get the bar out of the way. And you have the wires running over to the other side and into the master unit. So basically on both units you only have the two wires.
But you need to concern with all right. And there is a wire running between the two units. Which is a video. Okay now the power comes out and you see the two wires here for the power and the way.
It s powered up is you have this power plug you see the two wires. That s split on this cigarette. Lighter okay just plug it in power it up now the good thing about this unit and i really like the fact that this unit actually will resume playback love the other brands if you pay attention and or try it out you notice it doesn t resume playback so this one will pick up where you left off see is the resuming and no play on both units. The video and the picture quality is very good.
I ve read some reviews of other brands. Where they say this slave unit for some reason. It s dimmer. I don t know why.
But it might be the quality of the screen that might be a little different. But because you have a brightness setting on these units. Really is not an issue the volume. The brightness that both can be adjusted to be exactly same so this pause this i ve user on a few trips already last week and no problem at all you know turn off the car turn it back on and resumes right backward.
Where you left off no problem with playing the disc. Just it s been a good unit. I don t had any problems with this so one thing i want to mention is that because the way. It s mounted you see the headrests on this vehicle.
If you notice the headrests. It s quite vertical. So this after i mounted this is actually at a right angle. A good angle for the kids to sit in the car seat and watch the video.
If you happen to have a car where the headrest tilted quite forward at an angle you can imagine this display is gonna be upwards like this so and there s really no way on the unit to adjust the tilts so just keep that in mind. You might have to play around a little bit maybe just bring it down a little further to get to the right angle. That s the only thing that i found that was but might might be an issue for some vehicles. But um again this is a good unit.
