Im reviewing another westbrook brewed ipa that they made for evil twin and the the last one i reviewed was called the man is born free. But are all cages or something like that this one is called the privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are and this is another double dry hopped ipa. I dont know the exact date.
This is brewed. But i feel like the first time was posted by epi of evil twin with a picture of being actually poured into a glass was one day over a month old so im guessing it says one day over a month old at least. There are no other check ins earlier than that day on untappd.
But unfortunately okay otherwise i dont know much about this beer. I looked everywhere and i couldnt find anyone who said what malts are in it and most importantly and i have no idea what hops are in it. But probably.
I was a galaxy citro one of those three almost three. I dont know im expecting to be very good because i really liked the westbrook root ipa and had last time this is 7 alcohol. It was just distributed up here this week.
So it was the freshest i could possibly get it and it seems like it was a bit cheaper than it was last time. Which is great that looks very nice. Very hazy and pale.
Very good head retention no chunks not quite murky. I mean i guess its a its like a glowing murk as a good way to describe it maybe. But it looks perfect just like the last last.
Westbrook ipa.
I had that smells really good too. Im betting that this is mostly cetera it smells very big on the citra maybe some eldorado in there. But i really like that its got a little bit of the vanilla creamy notes that sometimes our yeast derived sometimes our citra hops derived often its from the use of both heads sticking around.
Though i dont know its like over carbonated. If its just a nice head. The bubbles arent superduper dense its just a little bit high carbonation.
But i dont think that should cause any problems. Yeah in addition to all that sugary tropical theres some jolly rancher lining outs almost its peachy. I think actually i think there is mosaic in this but this is i guess part of a series of ipas westbrook.
Does for evil twin called erase it rewind. This is number 26. So im guessing that these are all slightly different ipas that they make in this series.
Time. I think mmm pretty full mouthfeel big citrus zesty and creaminess that comes in thats got a good good mouthfeel and sweetness lingering with lots of like pineapple. And peach juice.
Thats really nice. But finishes clean and pretty dry it does have some texture and some real ibus. I believe.
But it still has a good amount of sweetness.
Lets see if the second or third sip will make it like more bitter. A really nice feel maybe yeah. Just a little high on the carbonation.
It would be a bit creamier mmm. But hows it pretty firm bitterness like actually the man is born free. But is always in chains.
Westbrook root beer is still going in some hair around. Here people are drinking it when its like four months old or three months old theyre like saying. Oh.
Its more like a west coast ipa. Our hazy west coast. And i think thats because after a while youll get some unpleasant old bitterness hop flavors that might be a reminiscent of west coast beers and it wont be nice and is nice and sweet and creamy and definitely see that like this is definitely more bitter than most most union men style ipas.
But more bitter than this in the sense of actual international bitterness units. Like alpha acids have been isomerized and the boiled. It isnt just like thats chalky bitterness that just comes from a region.
Cusamano sediment the trillium has because trillion beers are generally pretty low in their bitterness. But they get give you that throw prune this one has a teeny bit of the throat burning the chalk book. Its mostly think i just i think just you know actually ive used mmm yeah.
Im pretty happy with this one like it doesnt have really crazy high reviews.
But maybe westbrook to suits my taste a lot. Its not gonna be your big sweet juicy dank hot bomb. I guess.
Thats what people are looking for its not very dank theres just a very lingering light herbaceous quality. But its not really i guess is it a touch of almost eucalyptus you know maybe. There is like big secret or something in the blend of hops in this beer.
But its not really big on the green. No its not big on you know dank bud type. Things.
And im not huge on that like im getting a little bit tired of single hop galaxy ipas and stuff cuz. Its just a little bit to almost menthol ii. And lets stop short of mentally its mostly just comes with that sweet creamy tropical fruits and then moves to is a very early citrus zest equality its not quite too bitter and pithy.
But its nestea and spicy and finishes super clean and really dry right on the edge of bitterness of like you know pick eit use or something like that. But it suits my taste really well i highly recommend this this beer get it soon because its you know already a month old and its not crazy expensive. I think a lot of the the last batch.
We got from westbrook was over twenty twenty dollars. A lot of places were charging that much yep. I would give this maybe another four and a half.
I really like it yeah. Im comfortable doing a four and a half .
