Things a very large files can get spread all over the place on the drive. Slim now this will allow you to basically look for large files. Duplicate files basically free up some space and they so management utility to help you kind of manage. I guess all your data your disk repair.
So if something s going on you can check it out see what s going you can verify repair or rebuild the directory information and you know that s a it s a nice little thing to do in the background. You know with you know journaling and hfs. It s not that big of a deal again back in mac os9. You know if you didn t do this regularly odds are your files.
We re going to get kind of miss placing you had some problems but nice to keep it in in particular. If you have some problems you can run that you just scan basically does a physical look of your drive. So if you re having some issues again maybe you got some bad blocks you can check that off here s this drive pulse. This is interesting i have it turned on right here.
And it s right up here. I have a little menu option basically what it ll do is it ll keep an eye on my drive and handsome status here. You know what s going on and where did the like it has it keeps an eye on the on the fragmentation..

Oh here it is so fragmentation status. It hasn t run it s a little check here and it s consistency and after a while you ll get a little you know once your disk becomes or once. It is needs some maintenance it ll come up and say hey you know maybe you want to do this so nice little reminder to kind of keep on on top of stuff. So.
That s a nice little feature and then we get some more functions right here and this spins around the integrity check. This is basically like a burnin so you know you know like you re gonna give your computer to your mom. Maybe you want to do this check just to make sure the hard drives. Fully working or maybe just buy a new hard drive.
And you just want to make sure that it s up and running good to do before you load your data on there initialize some options to you know initialize it you know you know mac os. Tens disk utility does a lot of stuff for that repartition. I didn t actually try this but apparently you know you can modify your partitions. Without having to you know redo.
It yeah. I m not too sure if that covers all raids. Actually haven t really looked into that but too much duplicate so. If you want to clone your drive.
You know maybe back it up to hard drive external hard drive tape drive right on you know whatever you want to do to dumpling or even the network drive shred. It this basically securely deletes. You know your drive..

If you re gonna maybe sell your computer or you know maybe if you just want to make sure you re starting fresh you know and not have anything kind of you know hanging it around you can i run this one and the bench test is a nice little utility for just making sure or just checking out your hard drive just seeing how fast it works also running your system. You know see how fast your system works in general and the sector editor. You can kind of get in and take a look at the at the overall you know mapped up mapped out of all your data and i want to mention too if you go on their website.
You can download a startup disk. So you can burn a startup disk cd and you can put it in your drive. And you can boot to that and really that s what you re gonna have to do if you want to do the disk defrag because you know you re gonna have to be you know moving around your os. You know files.
So you can t be doing that while you re running it once again there you go guys drive genius. Three cooler utility you know way back in the day. I used to use norton utilities and then you know i don t know it didn t go so. Well.
