We just made a stocking post holder and a north pole and well show show you how we did it right now. What is up welcome back do you to do builder to make it great thats what we do in this channel every week this week. Were making a stocking holder post because some of us dont have a fireplace and need a place to hang.
Stockings and some of us wouldnt let others of us build a fireplace. So now we get to make this stocking holder. I didnt see where the roi was in the fireplace.
And this wont let you know were using plans from shades of blue interiors. Guess what i found them on pinterest and ill put a link to them down below. And im using plans that i drew in the back of a credit card envelope.
Ill also leave a link down below step a would gather all of our materials. We have a boatload of materials this week. But dont let it overwhelm you its actually pretty easy this build is really pretty easy.
Just a bunch of little pieces. Especially. Carrots.
Carrots. Is actually easel super. Easy then mine.
I have some gonna need a saw for this one. I need less of a sun. All right.
Were gonna need a 4×4 no.
1. By 12. A 1 by 8 and 1 by 2.
Some little trim pieces they go on like the bottom of the 4×4 made for it come already pre cut and mostly assembled they need a 1 inch. Dowel rod. What does this come post cap.
Post cap and then some ends for our dowel. Rods and little ball ends. And and thats mostly for mine.
Oh and mine is a fence post that i picked up. I think. It was like 14 bucks using a piece of her 1 by 8 and a piece of her 1.
By 12 and i got this beauty right here got it on clearance from hobby lobby. 4 bucks. Im gonna repurpose it make it all christmas like so just to clarify stocking holder his is actually portside.
Im portside could be a stocking cold air could be sparking holder. I plan on making it that advertisement. We dont know might open a bed and breakfast yeah right step 2.
Were gonna make all of our cuts. We already made some basic cuts like i cut my 1 by 8 up so that its square. Its actually like seven and a half is seven and a half.
I do the same thing to my 1 by 12.
I just made it so thats square. I think its like 11 and a quarter. Then thats it thats all my cuts.
Yeah so we cut the 4. By 4 at 41 inches. And we cut some one by twos to fit around the four by four post.
These are just rubber banded together right now and we have a 1 by 4 and a 1 by 6. This is the only like little bit tricky part is that because were gonna wrap our four by four post. We needed to cut the or what does the word rip the 1 by 6 down to 5 and 1 8.
And then these are our 1 by fours which are going to sit right inside here and this is going to wrap our posts to give it that crispy style look. These are 19 inches tall. 19 inches.
Tall. She made the same 1 by 12 cut to make it square tip three a symbol. I dont know if that was was that a robot a symbol a symbol.
Were gonna put it all together. Were gonna start from the bottom and work our way up so this is our base or a one byte swap. Were gonna make it a 2 by 12 were gonna pin them and glue them together just gonna tack them together with a 1 inch bread nail.
Not the guy music q. By 12 oop. Im gonna do the same thing.
With my 1.
By 8 make it a 2 by 8 and theres my a 2 by 8 alright now. Im gonna find the center of all the boards all these boards that we just created. Im gonna find the center and drill a hole in them and find the center of my post and drill a hole in that too that way ill just have to line up all the holes.
I wont have to play with the top figuring out if it looks centered since i only have a three inch screw on the bottom of my 12 inch piece. I got a countersink you like halfway music alright wont be yours first glue music bam lets relocate do you need to screw it in freely so his is a two tier base 12 by 12 and 8 by 8. Im just gonna tack.
It to the bottom of the toast this is what i got so far mines pretty much done now thats it really im gonna set mine aside we gotta have these pieces are you gonna tack them on we just glue my eyes well tack them on i got that gun right there. So were gonna put two cores on one side. The two five and a eights on one side and ill cut it 19.
Im just gonna tack them on with a one and a quarter inch brad the nail not yet music all right im gonna add the trim pieces the 1×2 trim pieces so its gonna make a little shelf up there to transition from the wider base to the more narrow base music now were gonna add this little pete done trim piece comes with a little music. Were gonna add our post cap so it comes with a screw in the bottom you just take a pair of pliers and you can just unscrew. It remove it so you have nice flat surface to glue look at that how cute that is already its so simple.
I want these little dowel arms to stick out from either side. So were gonna drill a little oh. This is a 1 inch dowel.
Its a big fat fatty dowel music. Well. Shes cutting mcdowells out at 11 inches long.
Im gonna drill a one inch deep 1 inch round fold on the side mmm wait till. I show you what i can do with these whoa so we got so far. Ive got to add my little shrimpy system music step four now were gonna paint first i got to paint my sign and im gonna keep my pretty neutral.
Im just gonna make mine alright and that way we can use it later in the year.
I can use it now for hanging stockings or i can hang plants on it later itll be more versatile take my sign apart step. 5. And now we have the exits first thing i put my sign back together well my post is drying and her post is drying.
Were gonna put my sign back together get ready to hang it we cut out some vinyl on the cricut. I made north poles is that music right theres my sign so far lets touch it okay now put it on the stool. Feel like i didnt need two sides you like this sounds a little naked now make it side youre gonna make it side.

You guys you guys have told. Me what i put in the back of the side voila thats it theres mine done done.
And done alright. Well finish kims up. Were just adding some hooks right yep.
So i still need a place to other than these to hang my stockings. We got a lot of childrens we got these little octopus hooks music our hooks on and now im gonna add this bow. Im gonna use this red and white stripe that we use last week for a grinch man and i think im just gonna add a simple bow right on top.
Its just like tying a shoe. But i am and theres kims rotate. It and you can change the battle for the seasons.
