What’s up guys welcome back in today’s video. I’m going to be be comparing console to pc. Now what i mean by this is comparing what playing the controller feels like on my ps4 and what playing with the controller feels like on my pc.
So i’ll be running a series of tests. The main one being recording slo mo in 120 frames per second on both my console. And my pc to compare the input delay as well as i’ll be comparing frame rates ping sensitivity and overall smoothness of the game like seeing what’s possible on pc.
That isn’t on console. I went to a lot of effort with this video. So alike is definitely appreciated and use code fle in the item shop.
If you do want to support more videos like this anyway with that all being said. Let’s get into the first test. Which will be comparing the input delay on pc and console for those that aren’t aware input delay basically means the amount of time it takes from when you press a button on your controller to when it happens on screen a lot of things can vary your input delay the main one being your monitor all gaming monitor input delays are normally less than one millisecond which is the lowest input delay you can get in my case.
Both my monitors are one ms. Monitors. So the input delay will only be in the controller and by the way i changed my shoot button to x just so it’s easier for you to see the input delay now starting off on pc.
I’m running my game at 144 frames per second on a hundred and forty four hertz monitor. My camera for all these recording. This is an iphone x recording at 120 frames per.
Second.

As you can see this footage in slow mo. Basically. As soon as i press the button it shoots now for the same test.
But on my console game. Is running 60 frames per second on a 60 hertz monitor. And as you can see there’s a bit more of a delay there.
But now let’s compare the two music one more time. But slower music alrighty. What’s up editing flee here.
Just showing you that i edited those two bits of footage. So that the button presses were at the exact same time so going back here to the 30 footage as you can see if i just go through really slowly the left finger looks like it’s coming down faster. But the buttons press at the exact same time left side shoots.
Then right side to remember left sides pc. Right sides console. So let’s go over that one more time and this is in the super slo mo.
So once again left finger looks like it’s coming down faster. The buttons press at the exact same time pc shoots. And then console.
So pretty much everything on console has a delay every shoot every edit every build everything you do has a delay press shoot.

Then it shoots you build a wall. Then it builds. And it’s not that bad until you experience pc.
And then console becomes completely unplayable alright. So now it’s time to test frame rate starting with pc. So there’s no real way.
I can show you frame rates through youtube as youtube caps frames at 60fps. So i have to slow the footage down in order for you to see the difference. So this is.
Comparing 60 fps and 120 fps in future videos. I’ll go even further and test all the way up to 240 fps. So stay tuned for that i apologize these aren’t the best recordings.
But if you’ve never seen above 60 frames before it’s quite the mind blowing experience. I highly recommend you try it out alright now to compare the ping and i did record footage for this. But the quality didn’t turn out too good so i’m just going to go over it now so just start off by saying.
That that is my pc right. There. That is my console.
So that both set up right next to each other i go around to the back of my setup.

And as you can see plugged into my internet. I have two other net cables one going into my ps4 and one going to my pc. So both my ps4 and my pc have the same connection.
I then come back around to the front and show you that on my pc. It says 58 ms. In the menu and on console.
It says 59. So they’re basically identical in the menu and coming over to my console. As you can see hovering around the 50 to 60 ping marks.
As you can see 60. 61. 62.
And then switching over to my pc straight away. We get 41 to 42. So ping instant drop by 20 keep in mind i’m standing dead still in my own creative server normally when i’m one view wanting my ping goes up to about 50 to 55 and then i go to show you one more time so consoles having around the 60s pcs on the 40s back to console to on the 60s so in conclusion to your ping it drops by about 20 moving to pc in my experience.
All right so. I currently have both my pc. And my console set up so as you can see switching over to this camera.
You can see my pc and my console.

So this camera is what you’re going to see from me playing console. And this one is what you’re going to see for me buying pc. So now i’m going to do a few edits and builds on pc.
And see if i can mimic it on console. So i start off just for testing general movement and 90s so i already know what general movement. Feels like on pc.
Because i play on pcs let’s just do some 90s now real quick so just doing standard 90s nothing special now let’s try the same thing on console. So general movement feels okay let’s just first start the frames. I can notice the 60 frames.
Frames are definitely super choppy movements. A lot delayed as well i copied my exact same settings from pc. Under console.
My sensitivities. My dead zones everything as well as for both controllers. I am running a galaxy control freak.
You can purchase yours with the first link in the description. And you can use code flee for 10 off alright now let’s try and crank some 90s okay so let’s first start the sensitivity is sorry much slower. But it’s it’s so much smoother like it’s smoother.
But it’s way slower the delay is pretty disgusting.

But it’s a lot easier to be smoother on console. Probably because of the input delay you can kind of just smoothing out your movements. So nannies on console.
Not bad. A lot smoother than pc pc. Has a lot more snappy and responsive movement.
Which means. Just. Little.
Twitches. And your thumbs can throw off your whole movement alright next thing. I’m gonna try editing.
So i’m just gonna go a double edit up and do a double reset and then edit that up so i’m doing five edits. So i’m pc. That looks like very easy for me to do 1 2.
3. 4. 5.
So by easy on or quite easy on pc or straight out on console.

And hurdy time for the massive delay. Let’s try this one. Oh.
Yeah. Let’s try that again can’t reset at all. So.
Delayed. One. Two three four five.
Oh. I soaked of laid. Oh.
Wow. The movements so bad. It won’t even reset.
Some reason i have to slow down my button presses a little ah okay that was it that wasn’t actually too bad that wasn’t too bad now. The thing that people don’t understand is everyone’s just like oh yeah console 60 frames is so bad it’s not the frames that are bad is the input delay the fry i can play with 60 frames on console. It feels fine it’s the input delay the slow responsive and the sluggish movement is what makes console bad a lot of people say is like i still play on 60 frames on console.
But you should be saying i still play on input delay on console console just straight up feels so terrible to player for coming back to pc.

So nice alright now just gonna do a quick free build on pc. So i’ve been free bidding on pc for a good 10 minutes down and i’ve got a good feel of it so now let’s try and do it on console. Oh back to the old console.
Alright. Let’s go. It’s trying to nail these free.
Oh wow. It’s so delayed you can still play. Though.
Oh. I won’t ever sensitivity feels so slow dude. What is this but literally can’t do anything call me.
There’s just no way i could play how i could everything just places so slowly. I keep falling. I think i fall every five seconds try net head it on console.
Like i can still get the movements down nevermind. It’s just so bad what am i no i’m gonna stop editing now this is a whole different game on console. I’m not even kidding.
It’s like nothing edits and nothing places so i can’t like i can’t even reset that like what is going on it’s just like i’m not used to it it’s playable.

But it’s after after pc. This is not playable it’s so delayed. I can’t i can’t play console.
Anymore. I’m done so as you can see i rage quitted from console. But pretty much anyone who’s played on pc.
They will think console is unplayable like it’s that bad in conclusion. The input delay is definitely the worst factor. It makes everything you do in the game from shooting building editing.
And just straight up delayed the frames isn’t too big of an issue so i by side looking at 60 frames and 144 frames. It’s noticeable. But nowhere near as bad as the input delay.
The ping is another big issue. Remember my pc had 20 lower ping than my console and also general movement sensitivities all that just felt so much slower. It was super sluggish and nowhere near as clean and responsive as pc.
But the difference is just straight up night and day console. Feels like a completely different game. And the only people that understand that are the ones that have switched to pc.
Anyway. Let me know which other console videos you’d like me to make in the comments. I’ll try and read them all thank you so much for watching.
