Rye. So we just got the cheetah wall mount for the 20 to 75 inch inch flat screen tvs and weve got a nice samsung flat screen tv heres 58 inches. So it definitely falls within that range and were getting ready to install it on our wall here.
We have studs that are 16 on center. Were gonna go ahead and just open it up and start looking at the different pieces here. Im surprised with how small the box is we got kind of a level.
Its neat that they include that some instructions this nice hdmi cable. We didnt need ours we actually like wired it through the wall prior to the installation. So that we can keep the wire clutter down.
Which is nice so we kinda got a parts list here as youd expect and then just some visual instructions. Therere a couple ways to set this up one is with a really really wide back mound. And thats for a larger tvs.
Like we have or the second option is just the narrower one if you are gonna do the narrower version. You dont need these extra parts kinda just looks like this but if youre like us. Its gonna be a little big bigger.
The first step is to kinda line. These up you can see here that theres this piece thats got some nuts and bolts all set up to be fastened together and and these kinda act as supports so the tools that ive got here is its just a screwdriver with a phillips head. A combination wrench set.
And this is an eight mm wrench thats gonna fit little nuts here for this first step you could use something like this like a variable size wrench. Its just not gonna be quite as easy you can also use like a socket wrench. But there isnt a ton of room to get in there so to have something that can come from a side like this is ideal.
Ive threaded these by hand so far and cool. So feeling very sturdy at this point. So.
The next step is actually to figure out where on the wall to mound this in terms of height. We do have wood studs in the wall. So we can adjust this kind of left to right if we wanted to and off course up and down thats really key in where you want your tv.
There are a bunch of guides and stuff online. But i think a lot of people tend them out there television is way to high so they talk about kind of a comfortable viewing heights. You can check that out based on the size of your tv.
So were gonna go in and because were on wood installations. Were gonna use 3 16 inch bit. Which ive already got in there looks pretty big.
But then when you look at these bolts. They are fairly large as well if youre doing cement mounting. They recommend a different size so they talk about 3 8.
Inch or 10 mm for concrete installation. So make sure you check that out and drill right size holes based on your needs. If you using just the smaller version of this you know its kinda.
Its shorter. Its not as heavy duty. Because you have a smaller tv.
And you didnt make the double long rack. Like we just did you can use these. Its like wall anchors that they include use these plastic things that you might not necessarily have to go right into the studs so before we actually screw that to the wall.
Though. Were gonna take the tv out and kinda put these clamps on the back. And just get some idea of how far down the bezel is from the mounting.
And so we can actually figure out where we want to mount this. But before that happens i did wanna show you what this kinda looks like before its hidden. You can see theres the little cheetah paw thing here this is where you can adjust the angle.
So you can determine like how how angled the tv is once its up. But then you go ahead and just hang that from here and then theres this little spring loaded thing when you put it down it kinda it connects so see it now it locks. You cant really get it off.
And then you pull this other little paw down like that and it comes back off so very cool piece of hardware lets do that one more time here we go so thats what its gonna be like were gonna have two of these things connected just like that tv is gonna be on it at some some level. Were gonna have that hanging of the wall and hopefully positioned wonderfully you know initially i was feeling a bit overwhelmed by all of the hardware. But what i realized is that they are giving you several sizes of bolts for the back of your tv.
So theres this kind of narrow one thats relatively small and then one step up and these super big ones and i already tested this with our tv. This is the correct size for us so that goes in right down. There and threads in nicely feels good.
And again thats just based on the tv size that you have and these sort of nylon washers are theyre extra you dont have to install them. But one of the concerns one of the benefits. I guess of this mount is that it only keeps your tv like an inch and a half of the wall.
But for some people. When youre trying to run cables and stuff to the back of your tv. You might need a little bit extra space and so those washers should help.
And ive read that some people kinda tip. The tv forward when they do that okay. So now that weve got it out again this a 58 inch.
Youll be able to mount these brackets in here. And wow. They just barely fit youll notice that its kind of the largest distance permissible.
Its got that kinda locking washer piece. So yeah and again we use those nylon washers. So that theres a little bit of extra distance from the wall.
Because our outlets. Do protrude directly out and perpendicular where some tvs. They come out the side so were concerned about you know wether our wires are gonna have to be bent.
Really hard or not and along with our coax so im 12 and a half. So we know. 12 and a half plus 32.
And thats where our holes will be so thats where were gonna measure really quick up on the wall. And were gonna hold this bracket. Along with the little bubble level and mark our holes.
And then drill those out and then well mount the bracket. Okay so we just held our bracket up here. We did the 16 on center.
We made little marks on the wood now im about to drill. But before i do that i wanted to just see how deep i was gonna go for these screws and you can sometimes you can put a piece of tape. There.
But im just gonna remember that half an inch before it changes so theres this board. What is this board called again that we got second instructor mdf quarter. Inch instructor mdf and then you coated.
It with what kind of paint first second instructor with latex paint instructor latex paint. And then you did this cool pattern. And so it kinda looks like wood.
But weve got multiple layers. So theres the hard layer of mdf. Then theres the dry wall and we get the studs and thats why its nice that there are these these really long screws and then again pre drilling them so they arent cracking or you know causing any damage internally okay since these they kinda have like bolt heads instead of you know patterns for using a screwdriver.
We got a half inch head on this socket wrench and were gonna hold this up. Were going to screw in these first two and then make sure its level before we drill and screw in the second two making progress now try not to over tighten. This so that we have some room to adjust okay were just doing some shop vacuum here we used our longer level just cause we wanted to get a really precise measurement the level they included was it was all right.
But you know again youre connecting the two pieces here so our longer one worked a little bit better we drilled the two holes. Were getting ready to put those the rest of the way and then were gonna be really close. We are all set to mount it okay go ahead and go back now i can see its pretty tight back.
There and our one of our cables. Is actually colliding with the rack. A little bit.
Theres enough room plenty of room for the hdmi. We did use the nylon spacers and we did have it click pretty cool you know its its definitely it feels solid we got them both to click it does space the tv out a little ways from the wall. And i suppose some of that has to do with the television set that you have ours had you know quite a bit of plastic out dented right there.
But about an inch and a half is what theyd said for the for the cheetah display holder itself and just awesome also i noticed that these little cheetah paw things they kinda dangle down here thats you can pull down on that and it will unlock. It for taking it off the wall. So these can be kinda tucked up in there.
If we wanted to and the final step that i wasnt able to show is that there are these pins and i actually slipped those in one on this side and one on the other and that keeps it from tilting forward. So you kinda get it angled. The way you want and then the pin locks.
It in so very happy with this i hope it helped you out pretty good products for 25. A lot of work getting it all set up right. But definitely worth it.
