And seek you loved it as a kid. But now that you’re all grown grown up it’s weird to play it at least most people i meet do appreciate me grabbing them from behind a tree. Luckily what is socially unacceptable and not criminal in real life is perfectly acceptable in minecraft in the hide and seek game mode in this mode.
You have to disguise yourself. As a blocker object in minecraft to hide from the seeker or try and find the other players. However just like in the game.
It can be hard to find servers that do this game mode. Any justice especially since the hide and seek server’s most popular years are behind us.
That’s why we here at minecraft labs. As in me yours truly have put together this wonderful little list of three containing the best minecraft hide and seek servers of 2020. So let’s jump right in music number three hypixel now.
I know what you’re thinking what how is hypixel at the bottom of this list well little timmy. If you didn’t hear what i alluded to at the start of this list hide and seek also known as blockhunt isn’t a game mode done on a large scale at least not anymore. So the servers that still do it are all incredibly good servers so don’t get your knickers in a twist about your favorite server being at the bottom of this list hypixel has two different versions of hide and seek one that is the more traditional version that you’ve probably seen youtubers play and one with a unique twist.
I’m going to be ignoring hypixel’s traditional version of hide and seek though due to the small amount of players. The mode has as well as how uh slow it plays in their second version of this game mode.
Though players must hide from the seekers. And a crowd of other npcs and players as opposed to disguising as a block and hiding among other blocks. It means you have to strategically keep moving around.
And it’s rare that you’ll ever be standing around waiting like in the other style of hide and seek you know because blocks don’t move that much all in all though. While i will always be absolutely in love with how hypixel runs a deliciously smooth server with its vast variety of game types their take on hide and seek isn’t the kind you’ve probably been seeing all the youtubers play and doesn’t quite have the same hilarity that normal block hunt has so i’ve put it at number three on this list great server. But there’s greater ahead number two the hive.
The hive is sort of iconic when it comes to block hunt. A favorite of many the hive does hide and seek in the traditional mode.
Where the hiders have to disguise themselves as blocks and the seekers have to figure out where the players are hiding before each round begins you select which block you want to be for the round. But you better pick well because you won’t be able to change it until the round is done during the round seekers are limited by a stamina meter. And so can only hit a number of blocks before running out.
This means that you’ll have to correctly. Guess. Which block is out of place or face the consequences.
As a hider you also get the ability to use taunts. Which are noises and effects that can help guide a seeker to your location.
Different taunts. Though will give you more points and higher point. Taunts are usually louder and more obvious and finally if a seeker manages to catch you and you die you respawn as a seeker and help them find the rest of the blocks.
The hive has figured out how to balance their game mode. Really well and each round feels challenging. But fair however while this server is deserving of first place.
I personally placed in second for one reason and one reason alone. Which we will discuss in our next slot.
Number. One mineplex mineplex is my personal top pick for hide and seek and you know what sets it apart from the hive. You can disguise yourself.
As mobs mineplex’s hide and seek brings the best of both worlds of high pixel and the hive functionally. It plays very similar to the hive’s take on blockhunt except hiders in this mode are able to change disguises within the same match and even fight back against the hunters. While the hunters are working together to find the hiders.
The hiders can prepare an ambush and get the jump on the enemy team. They also have a unique mechanic in their combat where their axis damage does more damage depending on how often you land attacks with your bow meaning that you’ll want to start fights.
By distance and then use your axe once it’s charged up additionally you can get different kits in mineplex that change. The way you play as a hider allowing you to change block types instantly be able to jump extra high or throw tnt. None of these are too overpowered to give an unfair advantage as well the only thing missing in mineplex’s version of this game.
Mode is the ability to disguise as players or npcs. But considering that wouldn’t really fit in the maps or play style of mineplex’s game. I think it can be given a pass and the only other downside of mineplex is that it’s a us centric server meaning if you want to catch the server while it’s active you have to play during the right times.
All in all i feel like mineplex has earned its place at number one however. I’ve noticed the general public consensus for the best hide and seek server is almost always the hive and the hive is usually far more active so we can agree to disagree if that’s what you prefer so that’s all i’ve got for you in this video.
