Today, bluevelvetrestaurant.com would like to introduce to you What are all the Dyson tools called and what do they do?. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“In this video. I ll be doing something a little bit different. And it s s thanks to some of my subscribers. That have asked me to help them out over the years.
The dyson cordless vacuums. There have been quite a few different ranges starting with things aren t the dc 44. 59. The v6 v7 v8 and v10 models and within those ranges.
There have been the other models like the animal or the total clean fluffy etc and the main thing where they tend to vary. So clearly between the things like the v6 v7 v8 and v2 are things like the bin capacity and the runtime. But the main thing that varies between things like the animals and the total planes are these the tools so you open the box. And you ve got this wonderful new vacuum cleaner.
But to be fair half of the tools you ve got no idea. What they do or got no idea. What they re called. So this video is really to try and help you out with what they re called and hopefully what they do now i m sure i will have missed some of the tools out.
But what i ve tried to do is a really comprehensive guide as to what they all are and what they do so let s get going now. The first small accessory needs to start off with it s the classic crevice tool. This is standard in i would say pretty much all of the cordless cleaners. The dawson produced it s a very simple design.
Yes so it s got quite thin at the end and i ll just show you how it works. Now. This has always been an ideal tool for get into little corners or places that are difficult to reach the next tool. We ll look at is this one is called the combination tool and as it says in the title.
Here s a combination of two tools so similar to the crevice tool. It s a rigid and and this i suppose who runs a similar concept to the crevice tool. But it s slightly wider. But what you have got is you ve got a brush around the edge and all you need to do is push that up there and it clicks into place.
This is quite a nice. It s a soft dusting brush. So if the area of the vacuuming is a little bit more delicate. Then that s quite a good one to use and i ll just show you that so this is quite a good example.
Because if you are going to vacuum up some rice that i ve spilt on the hob here. Then you wouldn t necessarily want to use one of the harder tools because you don t want to scratch the surface of the hole. So this is where this soft bristles can t really come into the room. Now the next one we ll look at is quite unique because not many of the vacuum cleaners actually came with it as standard.
It s called the flexible crevice tool. And the reason. It s called that is because it has got a quite a soft head at the end and if you want to you can take it off and change it for another smaller head the beauty of this the reason. It s called a flexi crevice tool.
If you have got a little button on the side here once you press that that can extend and as you can see this bits made out of rubber. So it is quite uni because if you want to get down the side of seats or if really into a difficult to guess area. And i ll just show you that in a moment then it is a fantastic tool. I ve used this personally in things like gets in down the side of sofas or even in a car getting down on the side of the car seat that has been really really good.
This is another good use for the flexi crevice tool trying to get underneath. The cabinet that s quite difficult to get under. But with flexi crevice tool. It s quite easy to bend.
It under this next dog has been a popular one the dyson owners. It has been called different things over the years and it s because things aren t the turbo brush or the mini turbine had but it is essentially the same thing and as you can see here it is a rotating brush. But it s mainly to be used when using the dyson as a handheld so as with all of these tools they just attach onto the end and as you ll see here. When you press the button to make it go this brush will rotate.
It just it s a fantastic tool. If you are limited for space. You can t use the normal floor head. But you really want the same sorts of pickup.
We ll give you a demonstration of that in a moment. But i will just show you something else that when it comes to cleaning this to put a coin in the side just twist. That and what you ll find is that this will just pull out the side it s really good so basically if you want to clean it so just take this out the side and any hair you ve got on there because that s normally the classic you can just take it off pop it back in and then get your coin and twister and away you go again. So just give you a demonstration of using this tool.
As you can see the pickup on that was very good and really the advantage was that it was easy to use. But if i was in an area that was limited for space. Then that s where it s very good the next to also look at are these two this is the mattress tool from a v6. This is the wide nozzle tool from v10 and with these two they aren t pretty much the same tall as you can see here you ve got an extra roller.
Very thin brushes on the mattress tool. They are both around 19 centimeters wide and they re really used if you are vacuuming a larger area for example a mattress because what you don t want to be doing is to be using a thin tool. So if you have got quite a lot of acumen to do and it just really makes it easier. And it just slots on to the vacuum and as i say there s no brush or anything to rotate.
But you re ready to go them now. This is slightly different tool. This is called the flexible extension hose and this is from a v10 and this this one is actually standard on the total clean model. But with this it s mainly designed to stretch out and it does extend 55.
Centimeters. And hopefully you can see it is a translucent design. So you can see pretty much all the way through it so if you do get a blockage in there then you can see where it is but really the idea of this is that first of all it clips on to the vacuum like that and then you attach any tool on the end and the ideas that you can extend there like that so just to give you a quick demonstration. This is using the flexible extension hose and to get under this work top just make life.
So much easier is this one. It s a long crevice tool and a soft dusting brush. Combined and the idea of this is you can use the crevice tool as standard. But if you want to use the soft dusting brush.
Then that just pushes forward and the advantage of this one is this is really designed for more delicate areas. But i ll cover that in a moment and to get it back you just push the button and then it goes back like that if you just want to use the crevice tool. Again now. This is really designed for the v10 and it measures.
34 centimeters. So it s quite a good one especially if you again you re trying to get into fairly thin spaces. And you need to slightly long at all now this is the next one it s called the soft dusting brush. This is just on its own this is one from a v6 and as you go through the generations.
The v8 and v10. They offer is very similar one on some of the later models it s slightly bigger. But the main thing with this and if the reason it says soft dusting brush is the bristles are very very light. So if you are vacuuming in an area.
There s a little bit more delicate and i ll show you go around a ceramic hob in a minute. Then this is really ideal. So. If you have some dirt on the kitchen worktop like this around a ceramic hob and i want to be a little bit more gentle than use of one of the stiffer bristle brushes.
The next tool is a really useful one this is called the stubborn dirt brush. And each generation of cordless vacuums. Have had one of these so this is one from a v6. But all of the other models have had them not the v7 v8 and b turn because they do look slightly different to this.
But essentially. It s the same tool now we ve altered the scenario. Where kids come running in they ve got same muddy footprints and when it s dry and you re trying to vacuum. It up it can be quite difficult.
This is rated at all for that because what it does it s got very stiff bristles. This is one that s really good to get into the carpet. Just to get a blows as it says stubborn dirt from the carpet. Now this tool is one of my favorites.
It s called the up top adapter and on some of the earlier models like the v6. They used to have some of the cordilla top tool. And that was just a brush on the end that was fixed. So you were limited to using that one whereas on this one for the v.
Turn is basically just the adapter. So you can use any tool in the end here. And the idea with this is once you put one on at all then when you connect to the vacuum. Then this is designed to rotate like this and you can use it with the extension hose as well really the idea is and i ll show you this in a moment that if you want to try reach on top of cabinets.
Then this is not ideal one so you can angle. It as far as that like that so it s such a basic design. But very very useful so this is a good example rather than you trying to use one of the straight tools and trying to bend over or haven t yet the ladder to do the top of your cupboards. You can just bend this around a little bit.
And it just makes life so much easier for vacuuming on top of cupboards. Now this tool is something that s slightly different and as far as i know on a provost. I m corrected on this it doesn t come standard with any of these vacuums. This is from a v10 and the order of this is called the sukhram.
The reducer tool. Now we all have this scenario. Where you you vacuuming up say over a broke or something that s fairly thin and all it s doing just sucking up. And you can t release.
It now what dassin have done is they ve come up with this design and the idea is it s it again it s a very simple design. But it s just a collar wrapped around the tool. And it s got a hole in it so. The idea is that if you want full suction you just turn it round.
So you can t see the hole. And if you want to release some of the suction then you just turn it as to how much you need so. If you did find that you were vacuuming up on the rope. Then you just turn it until you can see the hole.
That s fully open and you will find that suction. It isn t as good. But that s really the idea i ll just show you how it fits on it just case on to the end. And you just put whichever tool.
You want on so. That s the advantage of it just being an adapter that you can use any tool. So very very easy and simple design. But very effective.
What s odd is i ll cover some of the floor heads that the dawson s have come with the first one is the motorized clean had this has been a fairly standard cleaner had for mainly some of these standard models. Things like the v6 is the standard v6 the cord free and several other models and then you go up to this one called the direct drive had although both of them are the same width. The actual brush width is 21 and a half centimeters on this one and 23 centimeters on this model. So that basically means that when you vacuum in the pickup on this one because it s wider then it basically it is better and also you ll notice that the bristles underneath that you might not be able to see it from mouths.
But they are softer on this one. The bristles are longer and on this one there s a lot stiffer. You will find that the difference on it is is quite big actually especially if you re on carpet. Then you can go for a vacuum.
With this one the direct drive had then yeah. The pickup is better on both of them to clean. It if you just pop a coin in the side that s the same on both of them popcorn in there just twist. It both for the brushes will come out and then take any hairs off.
Don t wash. These just use a damp cloth or something to give them a good clean and then put them back in and twist. The coin around the side and then you re ready to go the next flow tool. That s been available is this it s called the soft roller cleaner head this has been a fairly standard model on the fluffy models over the years and the reason it s called fluffy is because this is a fluffy head.
This has been very very good for thank you mineral mat. Larger particles. So think about corn flakes or anything you spill on the floor. This.
One has been really really good some of the other tools. Even the direct drive had as good as it says can t struggle sometimes with some larger things. But yeah. If you don t need to vacuum those up.
And this is really the tool that recommended an especially if you re vacuuming on hard floor. I ve seen quite a few of the dyson adverse where they ve shown you vacuuming up cereal. Then this has been the one to go for if you are interested in buying any of these tools. I have provided a link below to show you where to get them at a really good price just tuck them in the search bar.
And then you ll be able to find the one that you need i hope you enjoyed this quick video on learning all about the different types of tools that dawson offer what they re called what they do i m sure i have missed some out a bit this is all at hand at the moment.
