“So i m going to show some tick watch disassembly. But also first should before before i take it apart outline an issue that i ve been having so it very hard to find disassembly of this and so i mean like i found a few photos. But it wasn t even i have to tick away. I think it was tick watch s.
This is like the og model. I m pretty sure sorry that the focus is off on using a webcam and i think it s auto. Focusing and it s not the best at doing that but you don t need to see that too much the issue this loose. I ll show you why later and then also now it s so first there were some lines showing up now it doesn t even charge for please see.
When you oh the line. I see now there s only one line. But i can make there be more lines across the screen when they move things around so. I know it s not an issue with the screen.
It is an issue with something being connected a little bit more faulty. But i ve taken it apart and put back together free time so the lions aren t is horrible. But if you look closer this we ve been focus i don t know see it s on it it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. I ve tried different angles.
I ve left it i ve left it literally by itself for like five hours. I went out and came back it was still making that connected reconnect sound when i came home and it didn t hold any charge. I don t think it s holding charge because i don t think it s connected properly um. I don t think that there s issues with the battery itself because the charge was holding fairly well when i used it but in the last few days of using it before it completely wouldn t even be useful without being plugged in it did die faster than usual.
But it still held a charge. So i don t i don t know for sure disassembly process. First thing take out this screw here. I went to a phone repair shop to see if they have this because.
This is a torque..
I took it already it s a torque she act or it s a torque t2 torque x t2 the star shaped ones it s so tiny can t even tell and i won t bother trying to focus on it it s the same one using iphone repairs. I went to a film repair shop by the way i got this on the emblem for 10 bucks. I ll probably link it in the description. I went to a film repair shop to see if i could borrow one didn t feel like buying a screw.
But i m glad i did because the issue wasn t as simple as i thought but they said they didn t have it because it was too small. But they probably just weren t being smart because they did have it because they do iphone repairs. They just didn t i don t know maybe they just couldn t see properly. But whatever once you take out that screw you go in here and open it up be a little bit of clicking.
Because there are three of these things here you can tell i only have one because two of them here and here that go the larger. One here and then the sorry. The larger. One here and then another one here they just are supposed to be on like so like standing up like this one.
Here. So it s goes in snug. Yeah. Those came off.
I don t know if this me playing with it and tried to get the right angles. I broke it or by dropping it and the initial drop i broke it i i don t know. But yeah. There is the the hole here for the heart rate monitor and the connection for the charger.
If you have some charging issues. I just recommend cleaning them i went through and did a little bit of minor cleaning around here just kind of scraped off so the dirt. I recommend using a toothpick. But that wasn t my issue.
I just thought net white..
You can see the dirt might as well clean it but it is ip. I forget what the ip rating is but it s pretty dust and water resistant so which that should not be causing issues. There are the two connectors there and the charger thing and then from this layer here. It can we focus maybe.
It s very similar to take apart similar to the layer on top as in you can just click it out so i find the easiest ways put your thing up there and your looks look that means. It s out take it out be a little careful because there is a ribbon cable. It was so nicely focus and i don t know what happened hey google turn off the desk light. I think that the lighting might be messing with the focus.
I don t know. But oh yeah. That is a little better anyways. So yeah.
There s the my lighting is awful for recording my lights are directly above and they weren t dimmable. But anyways so yeah so there s the ribbon cable attached there and so i wouldn t fully remove that because don t remove the ribbon cable. And then there are the the inside components. Here got the board.
There and just like a little good ok. So i don t know that s frustrating. Oh. There s just like there we go.
It s like a little on off thing. There cuz. The power button is there i think it just focuses on movement maybe. But yeah.
That is the inside and so i thought maybe something was loose and that s what my issue is for anyone that just wanted to tear down..
That s done i d soap in my watch took it apart. That s how you take it apart. But for anyone who had the same issue or knows. It s a solution.
I don t know so i just kind of tried like pushing on this make sure it s in nicely let s see the ribbon cable. I don t know if i take it off so many times. But it doesn t seem to be sticking as well as it did initially stick it a bit more on both ends push it in nicely and going to refer back to some of the photos. I ve seen four see the the guy.
I use was like if you just google tick watch as e. It s on form saw xda developers com. I don t know if you can even. See that see oh no you can t see anything well.
There were some photos here of the disassembly process. Because people were doing a battery replacement. And there are more screws here and there taking out the ribbon cable. Now i didn t want to result in taking out the ribbon cable.
But i think that might be what i have to do the thing is other than pictures and that literally picture. Because that s the only source that i found there weren t any disassembly videos tutorials whatever i can t find them i ve been looking. I don t want to take this apart. Without any kind of video visual guide just i don t i don t feel comfortable taking out the ribbon cable.
I m not a fan of ribbon cables. I ve had bad luck before with thankfully things that didn t matter just random little projects. But this is uh like i m clearly not paying for the repair. So i don t this is like a nice watch.
But i don t want to pay for a repair because i m trying to do a budget thing this thing was ten bucks..
I just want to fix it myself i also do enjoy taking things apart. But yeah i could go in and get it fixed. Which i don t want to have to do if i mess things up so has anyone taken apart the ribbon cable. Do they have any tips and are there any videos or tear downs or tutorials.
Or. If anyone has a similar problem had they fixed it because oh it s frustrating. I m going on vacation in a few days. I want to take it with me i ve had this problem for maybe like a week.
But then it took me a while to get the screw and everything and then it got worse. So i don t know i probably if no one really does anything says anything or people like i don t know or people have this issue. But no one s actually fixed it themselves. I m just gonna take apart the ribbon cable take apart the battery put it back in.
But i ve seen online. That other people have replaced the batteries you could get they re linking ones on aliexpress that are double the size and they re like really cheap. Too so they re like also people. Replacing the pcb with one that supports like sim card or different.
Things. Like that like a chinese pcb. Something that there s different versions. A global version and the chinese version like um.
And people have done these replacements. But there s no documentation and i really would prefer that when tinkering with something that i have very little information on and it is expensive for me relatively and i don t want to pay someone to repair it or mess up even further so yeah that i rambled a lot. But if anyone has any advice or anything ” ..
