switchpros This is a topic that many people are looking for. bluevelvetrestaurant.com is a channel providing useful information about learning, life, digital marketing and online courses …. it will help you have an overview and solid multi-faceted knowledge . Today, bluevelvetrestaurant.com would like to introduce to you Switch-Pros SP8100 programmable switch panel. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“I m robert and i want to introduce you to the switch pros sp 8100 8100 switch panel power system. The spae 100 is manufactured by off road engineering. And best new interior accessory product at the 2014 sema show in las vegas. But first let me show you what s all included in the kit.
Okay so here s the package let s open it so first. We have some detailed directions installation directions also a sheet of switched legends and these are made out of polycarbonate material with 3m adhesive backing. We have an installation kit. I ll go over later on here the battery power cable.
4 gauge battery cable with 100 mm. My die. Fuse here s the power module. It s rated at 100 amps.
Totally sealed. Here s a switch panel. Itself. All nicely packaged and protected of course.
Here. You see the switch panel. Without stood legends. So that s why the background is all white and here is the harness that plugs into the power.
Module uses automotive seal connectors. And here s some sleeving to make a nice installation and also a mounting plate for the power module. It s basically a universal mounting plate then in the installation kit you supply zip ties tap a few circuit bunch of hardware a programming card that gives you detailed programming directions and also a universal mounting bracket for mounting the switch panel. So this is a 62 degree angle.
And the switch panel. The switch panel can actually either be mounted flush and we have a group that we machined into the panel itself so we can lay the cable inside it and then do a flush mount anywhere. Also you can use the bracket and then the panel can either be mounted to a flat surface or also up on the roof of the vehicle up on top of the windshield filler so it s angled down at a 62 degree angle and also any vertical surface in that way. It s pointing up all right.
That s pretty much it so next. I m going to talk about the programming. This p. 8100.
And all the built in features that it has so now let me show you a demonstration of how the system works. So this is our power module. The connector on the left side. It has four wires coming out and that connects to the switch panel.
And this little harness. We have a yellow wire and a blue wire coming out and a ground wire the yellow wire is for your parking light input and the blue wire is for your ignition sense input and the black wire is a ground wire. The red wires on the right side. Here.
Those are your outputs..
So there is eight outputs outputs. One through seven our current limited at 18 amps and output number eight for switch. Eight is current limited at 30 amps and we use two wires for output. Number eight to get the 30 amp capacity.
The yellow light wire input. It senses your parking lights being on and what it does when they come on it will dim. The backlighting so here we have simulated light a simulated light input and a simulated the ignition input. So when we turn the lights off your your backlighting actually increases for daytime backlighting and when you turn your lights on it dims for nighttime your ignition input.
It just determines. Which switches will operate in the ignition mode. Because with the ignition off you ll only have switches operate that are that have been programmed the battery mode okay so i m going to give a little demonstration. Now so we have eight lights connected to the outputs.
So you press. The switch. One the light comes on switch to this case. We have a front locker in a rear locker.
But we have the lights connected just to demonstrate three four five six seven eight you notice switch five is a horn. So we have a program to be momentary switch. Seven. We have an air compressor connected to the output and we have a switch memory programmed into the switch seven so and the way that works is if you have your if you re driving you have your air compressor on and running if you were to get out of the vehicle turn the ignition off we re going to shut that off for now your air compressor will shut off.
But when you get back into the vehicle and you turn the ignition on it will remember that they are compressor output was on it ll come back on automatically okay and you can still turn it off if you want to okay. Now. The reason. Why switch number three state on when we turn the ignition off is because if it have been programmed for battery control.
So switch. Three. It doesn t matter in addition on or off. It will always be on okay um also i want to talk about the strobe and flash function switches.
Four and six have a flash function and strobe function built in now the way it works is if you press the switch normal the light still comes on normal and you can just use it as a regular switch. But if you press it twice within a second the strobe function or the flash function will turn on so. This one here has been programmed for strobe so we hit it twice fast and it enters the strobe function. Okay next i want to talk about programming.
A switch panel through the panel and we include a programming guide. A small card that you can keep in your glove box for like a quick reference card anyway. The programming is done through the programming switch. Which is located at the center of the switch panel at the switch pro logo.
So we want to hold this down for four seconds and then we re going to enter the programming mode so as you saw all the led indicators flashed one time so that means that is for the momentary or on off function. So we re going to program. All momentary switches. Now so we re going to press.
The horn switch so that one s going to be a momentary..
Okay then we re going to press. The programming switch again and then we re going to enter the second programming function. Which is battery or ignition control. So we re going to the default is ignition.
So we re going to program. The auxiliary battery switch to the battery operator. Then we press. The programming button again the light will flash three times and we will enter the flash mode.
So here we can program in a flash function so we re going to program switch. Four to flash. Pressing the programming button again will enter the strobe mode. So we re going to program switch.
6 to strobe then we press the programming switch again then we re going to program. The low voltage disconnect in the default is on and you can see switch. 7. Indicates that the low voltage disconnect is on by pressing the switch again we can turn it off and we and here we turn it on again.
Then we press. The programming switch again so the last one we re going to program in the memory function. And that one we re going to use for the air compressor. So there we go press.
The programming switch again and we exit the programming mode. So now we can see i m going to turn the ignition off our lights on so now only switch three operate. Because it s battery control ignition on air compressor on ignition off air compressor shuts off ignition on it turns back on because that s the memory function strobe mode. I m sorry that was the flash mode and our strobe mode.
You you okay next. I would like to talk about the backlighting adjustment. Which is which can be adjusted through the switch panel in the center of the switch panel right at the switch pro logo is a programming switch. If that switch is pressed three times in a row like so on two three.
It enters. The backlighting adjustment mode. So switches. 1 and 2 adjust.
The led indicator intensity. So switch. 2 will decrease the intensity and switch. 1 will increase the intensity and this level is for the lights on mode.
So whenever year you have your parking lights on for nighttime driving. That s when the adjustment takes into effect. Which is 7 8. Adjust the switchback lighting intensity so at 8 switch.
Decreases intensity and switch. 7. Will increase the intensity so typically we turn it down all the way for nighttime lighting and then when the programming switch is pressed again it will exit the mode. So you can tell now it s nice and dim for nighttime driving.
If you turn your lights off then it goes to 70 intensity so lights on dim and also the led indicators lights off full intensity you to talk about the bluetooth function of sp 8100 switch panel system right here. We have a app installed on an android tablet. So right here we re going to open. It okay then we re going to scan for local devices scan for devices and then the switch pro will show up we select.
It okay so here we have our switch panel and we already programmed the names the switch names in as you can see here you know front locker rear locker and all the switches function from the panel. I mean on the screen just like they do from the panel. Okay so now we re going to go into settings. I m going to show you how to program.
The panel through a bluetooth connection okay. So here s the menu. We have configure switches set dimming set switch names and also set password. So first we re going to configure our switches.
Okay. So the first switch function. We re going to program in is on off or momentary. So we re going to program.
Switch. Five which was the horn as momentary press next then we re going to program in battery or ignition control. And we had switched three programmed to be battery control. So that way the switch will function all the time and you do not have to have the ignition switched on okay.
The next function is the flash function and we re going to program switch. Four to flash and the flash function is only activated. When the switch is pressed twice within one second so basically to fast pushes. If the switch is pressed normal.
It still worked it just turns on normal hit next. Okay. Next is going to be the strobe function and we re going to program six switch. I mean switch six yes to be strobe.
There we go okay here we turn on or off the low voltage disconnect. And the default does default is on and we re just going to leave it like that okay. The next function is the switch memory. And we have programmed switch.
Seven to have a memory function. That s for the air compressor. So we will turn it on hit next. So that way after if the switch is turned on and the ignition is turned off the output will turn off.
But when the ignition is turned back on again the switch will automatically turn back on okay..
This is the master control with a master control you can program any switch to turn on any number of other switches also so we have switch four programmed to turn on switch for switch six and switch eight. So we re going to select switch. Four to be the master and we re going to turn on switch six and switch eight. There we go then we have exit okay so here is the switch panel again so one and two come on normal three.
We programmed as battery control windshield horn still momentary air compressor and let me show you the master function. So we have programmed switch. Four to be the master and it will turn on switches. Six and switches.
Eight and then we just turn them back off individually. Okay. Let s go back to settings. And now we re going to set the dimming and that s the nighttime driving backlighting adjustment.
Backlighting and led indicator. So this only takes into effect when your parking lights are on so when the yellow light receives twelve volts the yellow wire. I should say so here we can set it there we go it exit okay. Let s go back to settings.
Okay. Now i m going to show you how to set the switch names in the bluetooth app. So they re displayed on the switch buttons. So here you can see the names already entered.
But it s very simple you just press on any switch and then we can just edit there we go press done and we re good to go okay back to settings. Okay. Then here is where you set your password and we can just this one at this time doesn t have a password. I m not going to enter anything now.
But it can be any character up to 16 characters long so. And then when you do have a password every time. The app opens up you re required to enter it and that way nobody else can use your your switch panel. Okay.
And that s it alright here s a demonstration of the bluetooth interface. So whenever. There is a bluetooth connection. The blue led on the switch panel itself will light up so here we re going to turn the ignition on and you can see that pretty much pressing all the switches will turn on the outputs and it also turns on the led indicators on the switch panel itself here s our horn momentary here s our master function.
Working and also or strobe. And our flash and of course. It also turned on switches 6 8. When i turned on switch for and when we press.
The switches on the switch panel you will also get an indication on the bluetooth device thank you for watching the switch pros sp 8100 demonstration and if you have any questions.
