Listen hey friends as all of you may know by now rocket league. Just went went free to play on september 23rd. This definitely means there will be changes and coming to our favorite game like being able to play rocket league through the epic launcher last night a couple of my friends one of them being my fiancee kevin.
Wondered what it would be like so they installed it from the epic launcher and began to claim it ran better than on steam. I took to twitter to speculate and had a few other people chime in and say they had a similar experience to get to the bottom of this i decided to take matters into my own hands. I have rocket league open on steam right now and let me open up these there’s like stats.
I can see okay so and then it you know it’ll tell me so my idea is that i do half of my 1v1 placement matches. I think i’ve done a couple of them already. But i’m going to do half of my remaining 1v1 placement matches on steam and then i’m going to launch rocket league from the epic store and and see what happens from there um.
And if i can tell a difference in game right now uh. I did boot up epic uh rocket league last night. I don’t know what to call it i booted up epic rocket league last night.
And it does i feel like it looks a lot crisper than it does right now on my pc. But i wanted to show you guys this um. This comparison.
Because i it was brought up to me by my two of my my rocket league friends outside one of them was my fiance kevin. He has a little bit more hours than i do and we’re both at around 4 000. Hours in this game.
So i’m just i’m curious to see what where what happens you know let’s see what happens for a goal. My frames maybe it will dip a little bit yeah. But so yeah let’s um.
I’m just gonna get into some 1v1 games um. And we’ll see we’ll see what happens all right so let’s just uh. See here okay so i definitely thought i had more matches to play.
But thankfully. I have two more matches to play. Oh god okay.
So i’ll do i’ll do one here on my steam account you know uh with the with the info up.
I i i i’m hoping that it it it maybe i’m just wondering if visually you guys will be able to see something or with the frame rate maybe i don’t know. But that’s the thing like i’m just so i don’t know if i’m the right person to be doing this all right rz born. You are my steam experiment for whether rocket league runs better on steam or the epic games launcher.
I would see like i wouldn’t be surprised if if they optimized it you know what i mean for for the epic launcher sorry this guy confused the hell out of me for just now gotta do this now so far so good like i don’t have any issues on steam people are thinking that i have issues on steam. I don’t have any the game runs. I’m doing fine my only issue right now is this kid.
He’s pretty good yeah that was um. I was really lucky there to be completely honest oh man that must have been the server. Oh my god that went in hell yeah.
I’ll take it i’ll freaking take it you know so like i said game feels alright on steam. No problems. Oh my god oh my god yeah yeah.
I’m gonna make you watch a kid. I’m sorry i’m sorry. This is just too good it’s so bad hey we got it on target.
I was afraid i was gonna miss you know so this match is going all right thankfully thankfully. Oh. I don’t have my pocket spot on that is also something i don’t have that on at the moment.
So that’s not affecting anything. I heard pakistan was having some issues with the game. I don’t know.
But just for the sake of things because i know steam can’t or epic can’t run a bacchus mod. Not saying that pakistan makes your game any slower or whatever. But right now during the transition.
I’m sure that there’s lots of updates going on and um. But yeah. 8 out of 10.
I think i did okay in the rest of my placement matches.
It was like win loss win loss that’s that’s kind of like where i am right now. Though my consistency is not the best. We left.
Oh my god okay so two minutes left to go i mean i was besting this guy he was kind of tilting himself not gonna lie um. Don’t touch yourselves in one guys don’t don’t do that i don’t know what else to say about that but just don’t do that don’t do it it’s not worth it um. I guess he kind of recognized the loss there i think with two minutes you could potentially still come back um if you’re if you’re close enough in rank.
But yeah he was pissed all right i’m gonna switch to the epic launcher that’s the thing like this whole um like me documenting this isn’t necessarily to say that they’re one is better than the other but i was curious because some people were people were claiming like it just felt better so. Yesterday. Also it is important to note that there were over 700 000.
People logged onto rocket league at one point. So. Yesterday steam may have had some hiccups.
All right. This is rocket league run through the epic launcher. Now tell me i think like it looks like auntie elias thing isn’t on ntli ntliosing.
I don’t know how to say that um anti anti. Ali. Alan t.
Ali. Alliancing. Is off okay.
Did i have it on before ah. The footage will prove it the footage will prove it okay we’re back so we already know what the problem was guys. I thought it looked crispier because my auntie elias in here is different not sure why that was the case.
I said i would go into some free play first so let’s do that as far as any differences right now. I’m not really feeling any of them um still feels pretty smooth and crisp. Just as steam.

Matt i think i played him yesterday. He’s saying all right matt. All right no worries kind of watching him on the ball.
Here and try and sport. It i’m here hi. I’ll grab this boost with all the boost that i have more boost all right nice.
I was able to get it past him. I honestly thought. I was going to get a save.
Um thankfully. Not yeah on here i’m nidoqueen oil. It’s kind of weird.
But it is what it is i got lucky there i messed up my kickout would do be storming. I just realized i can get this what a save all right no worries this guy’s gonna turn around where did that flick come from just like the back end of my car blasted in all right 2 0. So far like i think i think my confidence is a little different because i i started a little bit shaky.
So i might be playing a little bit better now that i’m warmed up whoa. Oh. My god i just got so lucky i didn’t react at all because i was like i don’t know where he’s gonna go with that jesus oh i got the 50.
I was able to jesus okay. Nice these are my last two placement matches. Too so we’ll see where the prick will place should we start a a road to champ series and mommy once because that’s like really where i where i want to see myself by the end of this year.
At least in champ like i’ve been in diamond um. For so long long. It’s interesting though to see the difference like i said.

I mean two minutes to go music music. Wow. I i’m doing the thing.
I’m about to uh about to brazil on the epic launcher. Not bad music let him approach me approach me and my goal. See here’s the thing.
I would have totally gotten the brazil i still have a minute. I just gotta let him not score here. I almost hiked my recovery up.
I figured i should just go for it it would be okay look at that. Oh. My goodness all right all right all right nice.
Oh wonder about forefoot geez ggs man yeah i’m not sure uh wait where am i gonna land please diamond one i would love to land in diamond one i it wouldn’t make my it i’m affirmed. I am. So affirmed whoa.
I’m near diamond. Too. Oh.
My god oh this is great this is so great thank you so much uh epic games launcher. No honestly i did one game on this team obviously i did i did the rest of my games. On the steam launcher like i said guys i wasn’t having problems with steam.
I just wanted to compare them people were telling me a few of my friends were saying that they tried it out and they liked it better on the epic launcher so let me know what you guys think have you guys downloaded two instances of rocket league like i have and play them on this on on each one so i’m thinking that yesterday. What was going on is you know the game goes free to play. And it is just clogged with people playing and probably on steam.
It was just congested or something with with people on the servers.
But today. Honestly i cannot tell a difference the minimum frames per second seems to hover around the same minimum average um. As far as i can tell like i said guys yeah.
No it doesn’t seem like there is a a true difference aside from um. I’m gonna have to look back. But i didn’t see numbers like as high as the minimum average here.
I’m so happy that we just we just did that we just got to diamond. One div. Four um thank you everybody for tuning.
In and i really want to know. What you think about um both instances of rocket league. If you’re going to be running it from epic from now on or if you’re going to continue to run it from steam.
I’m going to continue running it from steam. I really really like black’s mod. I’m as a pc player.
I’m really lucky. I’m able to to use bacchus mod. Anyway um.

Launcher um. Well i think i think i said it definitely looked crisper. But that was just because my anti eliasing setting was different and and that was a catalyst for an entire video.
