“How you doing it s jeff sinker from skank guitar lessons online calm. But i i continue with this series of lessons on using guitar pro. 7. The lessons are aimed for my students.
But of course. If you found this video here on youtube. I m sure you ll learn something just by following it through this session. We are going to be looking at the export feature on guitar pro especially guitar pro.
7. They ve added a few new features that are really really good so first of all what i m going to do is an open up a file and i m going to show you all the different methods. We can use for exporting and reasons for using them so first of all let me just open up a file and then we can start to work with it so i m going to go through here and i will go to my downloads and let s do the 1975. This is a track.
I been working on for a video lesson right so we have the file open up in guitar. Pro. 7th. Now.
Let s have a look at the various options that are available for us to export this file. And we scroll down to the export which is in the file menu section and when we hover over the export. We get a list of different formats that we can export from first up is gpx. We ve got midi asking music xml pdf audio and png.
So there s a quite a variety of them so let s look a little bit more in depth. What they all are useful now the first one gpx. If you was to save this file to your computer. And you wanted to send this file to a friend or colleague.
If they didn t have guitar pro. 7. They would not be able to open up this file. So we need a means of saving this file in an older version.
I ll the format and this is where this export gpx come if i save it in gpx..
I means any user that has been our house guitar pro six. They will be able to open up this file. And it should look the same as what you re viewing on your guitar pro seven so you still have a ravel ability to work with colleagues who have older versions and yet haven t upgraded to guitar pro. 7.
Which i m sure they will in the future. So that is what gpx is for you just click on that it brings up your export. Which is basically your hard drive your explorer and you would just select where you want to save it and then you can either email. It send by google drive whichever format you choose to use so that is the gpx export format next up mini now again you might be working with somebody who doesn t have guitar pro.
Kyle s got a midi format player or even it s got a midi keyboard. Where they can load files into the keyboard and play this is where the midi export menu comes in click on midi and it allows you to save this file in the midi format and it saves. All the tracks and it obviously takes all the data converted to a midi format. So that can be used i m used it a number of times.
If i want to export it across the various doors. Where i can load it up then and then populate it with different sound sources. Next up asking now i have never used this i ve never been sent a file in that format to use. But it is available.
It s not a very common format for people but of course you might find somebody that needs it as an ascii file format for some reason. So that ability is there for you can t really talk too much in depth on that it s just not a format that i ve used let s create some music eggs and l. Now this might be a new format to most people this is very similar to a pdf file format in fact using music xml you can open that file in pdf and it creates a father is very similar in its actions and views it to a pdf. But it does allow the user to use various formats to open up the file.
I haven t used it very much. But as new software comes online and new formats for reading. Especially across the internet music. Xml will be a file that i will be starting to produce more often given a greater opportunity for people to use it so.
If you have people that don t come access to a pdf. Some reason you want to change that you can use music xml next up is pdf now that is probably the most common menu option i ve used on the export format pdf. What this means is that i can produce a file exactly as what i m looking at here on the screen. So it prints every already makes it available to be printed and also to be read on your cell phone or your ipad of course if you re operating a you re going live and you want to be able to have a copy of the shoot music this is ideal.
Because you can save it as a pdf file you can then export it across to your ipad and you ll be able to use that as your sheet music or you can email it to someone and they ll be able to print it off from that format..
So that is probably the most used of all the exports and again simple use become a menu takes you to your drive. And you just save it on the whatever name you want once you ve sent that across you can open up in any form reader that can understand pdf file format and of course as i ve said you can print. It of course you can print directly from the actual file menu you ve got a print option here. But of course.
That is creating a print. So you will need a printer to print this out this is really what that menu. But i know they are formats. Where you can print to a pdf.
But if you go in through them steps you might as well just use the export pdf file format. But if you do want to print this out from your own laptop or your pc. Then you can just use the print option. But if you re going to be sending it across any media format.
Then you really do need to be using the export pdf next up audio. Now this is one and this is the menu that have included some new options before it really used to just be a wife file was the export and you didn t really have too much control on what was being sent out. Now this has changed on guitar pro. 7.
As you can see here now. I ve got mp3. If i click on this menu. I have got these different formats.
That i can actually export the audio to i ve got mp3 wild flag aiff and ugh i ve use an auger before but it is available but the mp3 yes. That is probably the most exciting part that they ve actually included this time. I also got a number of options. I can export a selection.
Only so i can just take a part of that tool sheet music that i want and be able to actually export. The audio create a file for each track. So if i want to send the entire thing getting separate pieces. I would click this if i wanted to include the metronome behind the piece.
I would click on it if i wanted to include the counting on previous versions..
They didn t have that counted not that i m aware of i never actually found the option for that. But this is the right in front of it very very easy to use some previous times. When you exported the audio the music just started from the first bar. Now i can include accounting.
Which really is good also we have got quality if you ve got a system. Which you have got low capacity. Then i would use the bat it just reduces it but in most cases now with internet s been of such high quality. I will always use best course.
The file is a larger file. But really there are so many ways now of being able to transmit and listen to it and drives get bigger and bigger you might as well just use what it defaults to is best normalization when i click on that i can reduce the volume of the track aurra can increase the volume so i always defaulted it off. But if there is a reason i want to make it a little bit louder or quieter. Then i can use normalization the bit rate method in most instances it defaults to the variable.
If you were tying this in with a video track then you might want to use constant bitrate. But i would at this stage. Really just leave it as the default. Which is set out the variable bitrate.
So these are the options. But if you ve never used this before you re probably wondering what it all means. Oh i have this track here. And i ve got the 1975 chocolate.
I might want to use this as a backing track to practice away from the actual laptop. I might well i ll just put it on my iphone and be able to listen to the track and remove the bass remove the drums remove the guitar whichever. But i want to create an audio track that i can use well it ll lighten and you can hear the mighty simply align. Quite nicely musical backing and of course.
Why not then be able to use it and doing the export of the audio this gives me this ability to do this i can create my own mp3 s live files from the piece that i m working on so. This is an excellent option. That s available to us english our prom going down last. But not least png that allows us to make a image of what we d be looking at again same thing.
It opens up my hard drive..
And i can decide what i want to keep it name it as well. But it does create an image of what we re looking at now. If the file like in this one is over a number of pages. It will create individual page images of the sheet music.
So if you re using this as a web mail of creating something on a website or you want actually post it on to a kind of a web based format. Then this already has created your png. So a lot easier way to work without and of course. If you ve got photoshop you can able to edit on the png a lot quicker.
But then you can t do that with the pdf yes you can if they re writing the things like photoshop. But this takes you straight to the stage of adding the image in the first place so a useful feature may i use this quite often when i am producing things for my websites. So though we ve got all of the items covered ways and means of exporting. The files that you re working on from guitar pro.
7. Well. I hope you ve found this very useful. Tips and advice on using this system.
I will be continuing this series are looking at some more parts of guitar pro. 7. That for a user for setting out on detail perl might find this what i m sure they will find this very informative. If you ve got any questions on guitar 407.
