fitbit blaze plum small This is a topic that many people are looking for. bluevelvetrestaurant.com is a channel providing useful information about learning, life, digital marketing and online courses …. it will help you have an overview and solid multi-faceted knowledge . Today, bluevelvetrestaurant.com would like to introduce to you Fitbit Blaze – Hands On REVIEW. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“Guys. What s up my name is eric and i m the techie agent and and this is my review of the brand. New fitbit blaze. The fitbit blaze is s first color touchscreen fitness tracker it tracks all day metrics like steps.
Calories. And distance. It also has what s called their pure pulse technology. Which is a built in optical heart rate monitor.
It has the ability to track a variety of different sports profiles you do get call text and email. Alerts. Delivered right to your wrist and of course this does have sleep tracking capabilities as well now the overall design on this is very sharp a lot have compared. This actually to the same cosmetic design as the apple watch and while that s true this is first and foremost a fitness tracker not a smartwatch with that being said.
Fitbit does offer some accessory bands that you can purchase separately to dress this up. If you would like to use this in a more formal context out of the box. It comes standard with a plastic traditional style. Watch clasp and bands and these are detachable via little pins.
That are on the corner of each of the bands and you can detach. These and then of course replace these with accessory bands or with different colored plastic watch traps. If you ve purchased those separately using a slow motion camera. We were able to see that the optical heart rate monitor flashes about 25 times per second meaning it s taking 25 readings per second of your blood flow your blood pulse.
So this sensor is going to be responsible for getting your resting heart rate. Which is an indicator of your overall cardio health. It will also get your active heart rate during exercise that helps you determine how many calories you ve burned and letting you know what heart rate zones you re in maybe if you need to push yourself harder or maybe back off a little bit as well the main brain of this device is detachable from the aluminum housing that it sits in now i don t like this design you have to remove this brain in order to charge it in the charging cradle that they include again. I don t like this design.
I would have preferred something that attaches to it that so sort of magnetic attachment perhaps instead of having to remove this and put it in a charging cradle the charging cradle feels somewhat cheap and flimsy..
Something that could easily break. And so i would have liked to have seen a different way of charging the device. But hey. It is what it is this device.
Only is going to need charged about every four to five days. So it s not like you re going to be charging. It all that frequently the screen margins or bevels are fairly large and actually take up a significant portion of the screen real estate. Now with that being said.
The screen is bright and crisp even in direct sunlight. And i didn t feel like the screen overall was too small. It felt about the perfect size. The device itself also lays very flat against the wrist.
It s not too thick. It s not too thin. It is literally the perfect dimension device. And i really think that fitbit put a lot of care and thought into sizing this correctly.
But enough about the build quality and aesthetics. Let s actually talk about how this performs in real world. Situations. Now again.
There are lots of different exercises that this can supposedly track running biking weights treadmill boot camp exercises circuit training high intensity interval training or crossfit styled exercises even some martial arts and kickboxing exercises noticeably missing is any water related sports. Because this is only water resistant not completely waterproof. So i started off by taking this into the gym and just wanting to do some simple weight lifting exercise routines and the thing that i really wanted to test was the optical heart rate monitor a lot of these built in optical heart rate sensors struggle particularly with weight lifting styled exercises and so a lot of the more recent optical heart rate monitors coming out from the likes of microsoft polar and garmin have done a little bit better than previous generation products. And that was the case also with the fitbit blaze.
This is the best optical heartrate monitor that we ve seen yet from fitbit..
So similar to a lot of other competitors. It would struggle during the actual exercise. But it would very very quickly get the heart rate in between the sets. When i was resting so during the actual exercise.
It would just hold whatever heartrate you had going into that set and then between the sets. It would elevate to whatever your current heart rate was and it would acquire it and be accurate. And so. And there would be about maybe a 5 to 10 second lag between you stopping your exercise.
And then it acquiring your heart rate and that s about on par with other top notch optical heart rate monitors that are on the wrist at this time so. Fitbit does have a weightlifting or a strength training profile that s built in and it uses your heart rate monitor to help determine how many calories you ve burned during that strength training or weightlifting period. And this is a different kind of calorie burn. Than if you were to do conventional.
Cardio exercise. So you would want to use different sports. Profiles. Depending on whatever your exercise was so it did a good job.
You can see here it shows the calories burned and the heart rate. And i also decided to take this through a crossfit styled or a boot camp or high intensity interval training style workout circuit training is what some would call it and doing just a variety of different exercises. Most of them bodyweight exercises or exercises that are designed to get the heartrate to spike. Very very quickly.
And again it performed as expected on par with other top notch optical heart rate. Sensors on the market. Now nothing is going to compete with a chest strap with a bluetooth chest strap or an a nt chest strap. But this did pretty good it was able to get pretty close to what my maximum heart rate was during these actual exercises and it did a good job.
Not having dropouts..
And so whatever fitbit s doing here. As far as their software is concerned and as far as their hardware is concerned they ve really dialed it in on this generation product. So for those of you that are into crossfit or cross training or bootcamp styled exercises high intensity interval training strength training weightlifting all of those kinds of exercises this will do a decent job tracking your heartrate and tracking your calories during those specific exercises now i did also take this on a treadmill. It has a treadmill sports profile and i wanted to see how it would do so in theory.
The built in accelerometer is going to be able to determine distance on the treadmill as well as your heart rate. Because it will be using the optical heart rate. Sensor while you re working out. And then that will in turn also help determine your total calories burned.
Now this did a really good job tracking. My heart rate on the treadmill so doing conventional cardio exercise whether it s treadmill running cycling. Any of those conventional cardio exercises aren t going to be quite. The same as strength training.
And this is really really good at tracking heart rate for a conventional cardio now with that being said. It didn t do a good job tracking my distance on the treadmill. I went three miles. But it logged it as like two point seven seven.
Now. Even though. The fitbit blaze does not have built in gps. Which in my opinion is a big flaw you can piggyback on your phone s gps.
Which is what i did when i was cycling so as long as you re willing to bring your phone along with you while you jog or y. You cycle. You will be able to piggyback off of your phone s gps and get more accurate distance tracking. So while this does not excel in any one particular area of fitness.
It does a really good job being a generalist tracking all different kinds of fitness..
It s a very well rounded fitness. Tracker now as of the release of this video. There s only four different watch faces that you can choose from i m assuming that fitbit will of course release more of those as time goes on fitbit has what i consider to be quite possibly. The best overall application in conjunction with a wearable fitness tracker.
It s very very simple very very intuitive. Everything you need to have access to is accessible on one main dashboard that you can scroll through all of the different metrics. That it s keeping track of and then if you want to dive into the details of any metric. You just select.
It and it will take you to additional menus where you can go through all of the different relevant data that pertains to that particular metric. That it s tracking and this also has food tracking on it very similar to my fitness. Pal and so this is a one stop shop. As far as fitness.
Tracking is concerned you can even buy. A fitbit scale. Which will help you and integrate all of those measurements and metrics into one easy app. Now this is by no means the perfect fitness tracker because the perfect fitness tracker does not exist.
