“Guys welcome back to emmett home today. I m going to show you how to to make your very own the polaroid guestbook for your wedding with some are just and false starting. I know that a lot of people have a wedding in the fall or if you re having a spring or summer wedding you re less than a year away in the planning process. So i thought this would be a good time to share with you guys something that we did at our wedding that we were so happy that we did and it was so fun.
And it just makes a really nice keepsake from your wedding. So instead of doing a formal guestbook. We decided to combine the idea of photo booths. Which are very popular at weddings and having a guestbook and put them together.
We got married outside and the reception was in this beautiful 1800s barn that had been restored our wedding was in july. So it was very hot and people obviously weren t wearing coats. They didn t have coats to check so we decided to take a coat closet than they had in the barn like a big walk in closet and make it into a photo booth so we put a cute sign above and we bought ourselves a polaroid camera off of amazon this is the fuji thumb instead x. And they have a bunch of different color options too if you wanted to do a fun color.
But we just got black and then we ordered a bulk order of the film. We had about 200 guests at our wedding. We just went ahead and ordered 200 photos worth of film. Even though we had 200 expected guests.
We figured that not everyone would go in the photo booth and take a picture..
Some people might take 2 and 200 was the right amount for our wedding. We did have some left over after that so we didn t run out or anything once we paid for this and all the film. It was around 200. If i m remembering that correctly.
I will fat check that and put down here what it actually costs. I also bought off amazon a bunch of these little baby clips. I will try and link below everything that we so you guys if you want to do this you can get what we got because all these things are free. We had some strange going throughout the coat closet and then a little table with instructions that said to take a picture and write a note for the bride and groom.
So we had some paper just simple cut out white cooper. What we had that people do is take a picture clip. It to the note that they wrote and then hang it up so that as the night went on the photo booth got decorated of all these pictures and notes. We also hung some greenery around so it kind of decorated the photo vines.
We didn t add any props or like hats or anything. But you could definitely do that if you wanted to make it more of like a true photo booth. Then what you can do with all those notes and photos is take them put them in a scrapbook and make that your guest book not only do you get a little note with the people who are at your wedding with advice or well wishes. But you also get a picture of them and what they look like on your wedding day and it is just so special and hilarious.
It s sweet..
I can t tell you all the fun messages. We got at silly pictures. And i m just i m so happy that we did this trevor and i try to do our wedding as cost effective as possible we were paying for a good chunk of it out of our pockets. So we were trying to do all the diy.
A budget friendly things that we could and when we made the list of the budget and what was going to make it this 200 dollar photo booth to buy the camera in the film and all the supplies it almost didn t make the cut. But i am so glad that we did it because i can t tell you how fun it was for our guests to do and how special the memory this is i m so so glad i happen it so we re gonna hop into this video and i m gonna show you guys the process of me putting this together again i m gonna link everything that i can find down below for you guys so that if you want to do this for your wedding. You can find some of the supplies that we use make sure you guys give this video. A thumbs up hit that subscribe button and let me know if you d like me to do more wedding videos in the future.
We did a bunch of really fun creative diy things for our wedding that i think turned out really cool so i could share some of those with you guys if you d like. But let s happen to how i made my polaroid photo guestbook. So the first thing. I used was this scotch adhesive squares that comes with the applicator.
I don t do much scrapbooking you guys actually. This is the first time. I ve done any of it. But this thing was a lifesaver and i would highly recommend it i think got a scrapbook from michaels.
I was able to use a 40 off coupon..
So this is mccroskey like 13. It has 10 of these large pages. I just did some math and figured out how big of a book. I would need i forgot to mention that i made sure these adhesive squares were photo safe.
I think the best place to get this at a craft store in the scrap booking section. And i love that it dispenses just a tiny square. Exactly what you need so. The first thing.
I did was made a first page and i wanted that to have the polaroids that trevor and i took it s true that your wedding day is such a blur and honestly i didn t get in that photo booth at all. But it was at the end of the night that trevor grabbed the camera and said we need a picture and i m so glad he did so we have a few pictures of us and then for the second page. I decided to take the photos that people had taken without notes just fun photos and putting those all together and kind of a messy fashion and having that as the first page and then i would go into all the pictures with notes and there were enough of the extra pictures that i could do one page like this at the end too. So i thought that would be a cute way to start and end.
The book next. I was ready to start putting together the pages with the notes on them. And one thing. I did first that really helped was separate into three piles.
So i have one pile that is pictures of our friends..
One pile that is pictures of our family. Members and then one pile is the people who did their notes horizontally because for this whole project. You re gonna be piecing things together like a puzzle. Pretty much and i wanted to try and get some family members and some friends on each page and also if you separate out the horizontal notes.
You re able to kind of put those in where you need them. And you just really have to play with it and see what works and then once you have your first page made of course you decide which side looks best with the side to your left. I did not plan any of this out you guys i did some map and figure it out about how many notes and pictures needed to go on each page. But other than that i just did a page by page and figured it out as i went as you re getting down to the last few pages really plan out exactly how many need to go on each of those pages.
So you don t end up with six photos on your last page and know where to put them all or two photos and way too much blank space. So here is the finished product you could of course add stickers or decorations or whatever you wanted. But i just love the way it looked with the white notes and the white bordered polaroids and the black backing just really simple in minimal. I thought it looks really nice thank you guys so much for watching this video.
