Today, bluevelvetrestaurant.com would like to introduce to you Canon 100D vs Canon 700D / Rebel SL1 vs Rebel T5i DSLR Camera Comparison Video. Following along are instructions in the video below:
“Canon has recently refreshed its lineup of dslr s by announcing two new models. The the canon eos 100 d. The world s smallest and lightest dslr and also the eos 700d. They re both quite similar so.
If you ll just tell us a little bit about the sensor technology. Ok. Sure yet they both. Feature an 18 megapixel.
Cmos sensor with a standard iso range from. 102. 12800. This can be expanded to an iso range.
Or iso equivalent of 25600 and both feature a digit 5 image processor. But between that there s some subtle differences. Yeah. There are some subtle differences.
Although both cameras do cost a similar amount so we re going to head out now and test both of these cameras can find out which one offers. The best value for money one of the first thing that strikes you about the 100 s design is how light it is and in the hand it weighs 407. Grams. Body only when you pick up the camera and wrap your hands around the grip.
You can just see that one of these fingers just button there just drops off and that s because the grip is fairly small. But what we do really like is that rubberized textured feel on the grip. And you can just see if i just turn the camera around that that stretches round to the rear as well. Where your thumb rests.
How does it feel in the in the hand. The 700d feel okay well 700. Dean uses the same kind of design. As the 650d that air replaces.
And as you can see the grip is much larger giving a much firmer hold and my little finger doesn t drop off the bottom. Let s go slowly more to take traditional textured grip. Which shares with the 5d mark. 3.
And drain the back that s repeated there for the thumb rest. It s a bit heavier but on a day shoe. You don t really notice it being such a small body you might think that the 100 d uses the efm mirrorless lens mount but what it actually uses is the efs lens mount that s compatible with efs and ef lenses. So as you can see here.
We ve got the lens mount and just by attaching the kit lens. You can just see that the kit lens does look rather large on the front. And if we just remove the kit lens and just exchange. It with a telephoto zoom such as this 70 to 200 here put that on the front.
You can just see how small the body looks. And if you just compose up and just have a look through the viewfinder. The camera does feel quite light at the back. And it s slightly front heavy.
So it s not that well balanced when it s used with larger lenses place the large proportions of the 700d over the 100 e. And the bigger handgrip longer lenses for a lot better balanced. When shooting handheld this gives you much more flexibility especially when thinking about extending your selection of lenses. More so than the 100 e.
Which is probably better suited to smaller pancake lenses. Like the 40 mil. Both cameras feature very similar arrangement in terms of their button layout and on the top plate. We can see the mode dial iso button and single command dial.
All positioned in the same place. But if i just turn around the 100 d and have a look at the rear. I haven t got the same d pad controls as on the 700d and i ve only got this quick selection button which i then have to use to go in and select things such as drive mode and af so yeah on the 700d. I ve got the flexibility of having these hardwired controls that have got quick access to white balance.
If picture styles and drive mode. So or both have got very good access to controls the 700 ease got the edge here. Both cameras feature. A 3 inch 1040 k.
Dot touch screen. So it s really nice just be able to touch the display just to head through the menu. When you need to but the design on the 100 d is slightly different to that on the 700d that s right so whereas your sits flush the body i can tilt mine and pull it out from the screen so depending on what i m shooting with i m shooting. The subject low down or high up.
I can easily compose the shot making it much more usable in a range of subjects. The 100 d and the 700 e both feature continuous af when recording hd video you can clearly see here in the moment on my screen. I m focused on the foreground. And just as i lift the camera up the chemical automatically focus on the background.
There. However if i was to use the button. Just at the bottom left hand screen. The servo af and if i just temporarily pause.
The autofocus there and come back down to the foreground. You can now see how that is out of focus. But then if i was to press the button again you can just see there i m turning it into focus. And what we really like about the stm kit lens is how smooth and silent the f performances and you can t hear the af motor whirring or any kind of noises whatsoever.
By the 100 day in the 700 e feature a 9 point air system arranged the diamond formation in the viewfinder. It s got a slight bass towards the center so if your subjects off to the edge of the frame you might have to recompose your shots. Before borrowing focus the difference between the two is that the 700d features. A nine cross type sensor type.
Whereas. The 100 ii. Yeah. The 100 is got one cross type sensor in the center.
So it s not quite as responsive as that on the 700d and given the choice. We d probably prefer to go with the knowing cross type sensors. As featured on the 700d simply. Because it is going to be more responsive.
So while both camera share the digit. 5 image processor. An 18 megapixel resolution it s the 700d that s got the quicker burst shooting 100d can shoot at full frames a second and the 700d can shoot it i frames a second making it a bit better for action photography. So as far as image quality goes.
There s no real surprises that the 100 d and 700d perform pretty much identically when the colors from the 100 and 700d are just as you d expect they re very neutral with no real signs of any color cars. I did however notice that the auto white balance is a tendency to lean towards cooler and more neutral tones. So if you d like your shots to be slightly warmer and they appear at the capture stage you may just want to apply a lower opacity warming filter in photoshop or of course alternatively you could just experiment with some of the inbuilt creative filters that both cameras offer looking at detail and while the 700d 100e feature an 80 megapixel sensor. Which pulley.
It doesn t have quite the same maximum resolution. And say nikons d50 200. Or the same a 65. Still puts in a very good performance color noise to start to become a bit of an issue iso 1600 and above.
Though don t be put off by this is it s very easily taken care of for fire. Did you shoot in raw. The iso sensitivity that i d probably want to push to is iso 6400 above that at the highest iso sensitivity settings 12800 and also 25600 is that noise becomes much more recognizable. So we would probably advise just to stay clear of the highest sensitivity settings.
If you can not only that but both cameras feature the new 1855 mil stm lens. So what do you notice with that optically you can expect the lens to produce chromatic aberrations along the edges with its high contrast between the highlights and the shadows. And i also notice the vignette adjust kind of creeps in when the actor is fully opened. However this does start to disperse at the corner of the.
Images when the aperture is closed down beyond. F. 56. And of course.
The other advantage of it being an stm lens is that it operates silently and provides a really smooth autofocus operation when you re recording hd video. So one other point just to note with these cameras is that the 100 d has a slightly smaller battery than that on the 700d meaning. You won t get as many shots per charge. Now.
Both cameras are great and they re both very very good performers. But the 100 d is targeting a slightly different audience than 700 d. I d say 100 d users are maybe looking for a camera. That s smaller a smaller dslr.
There s both lightweight and very easy to transport and you barely know you ve got it carried over the shoulder and of course. The 700d has its benefits as well yeah. That s right i think for the trade off on the slightly bulkier design. You get a better performance.
You get the better af. The better drive mode. You ve got the flip out screen and number of other little advantages. So that s why i think 700.
D. Is the better all round solution. It s a much more versatile option. Than the 100 ii totally agree.
And when you take the price into consideration as well both cameras cost 649 with the 18 to 55 millimeter kit. Lens. When you consider that you are getting more value for money if you would choose the 700d over the 100 d. And you can just read the full reviews of both cameras by visiting ww what digital camera com.
