My senior friends my fellow learners thanks for joining me here today as i teach teach you a trick about how to add a translucent box or shape over your and in front of the text. Now why do we want to do this. Lets take a look at an example of what this looks like youll notice.
I have an image back to singh good effective slide design that fills my entire frame. But that image offers me some conflicting some conflicting contrast with my text the word your stands out nicely against this dark background. But some of the definition of the words.
The word word gets lost as the image gets lighter. So what ive done is ive inserted this box and made it translucent.
So that light and some of the image can pass through and then ive inserted it in front of the image. But behind my text so lets talk about how you do that so here i have a slide. Ive prepared it already by inserting the image to fill the entire frame.
Im going to next insert a shape so im going to go ahead and select in this case. I want to use a rectangle. I do like to leave an even margin around the outside and lets go ahead and get rid of any line around the outside.
I dont want that to stand out right now. I have an opaque or solid color in there and no matter how light of a color.
I try to add it still is opaque that is it will not let the image show through transparent doesnt help because its as if i have no box there at all so what i want to do instead is select under the paint bucket here notice. My box is highlighted paint bucket and then custom and i can adjust my color in fact. I think ill do so i want it to to be complimentary.
I think to the beige is color of my page. There its already fairly light so i cant lighten it up and besides that has no effect. But its this slider here on the right and this changes the translucency of the box.
There so youll notice in places when the box covers i can still see the image. But its a little fuzzier.
Its less clear crisp and ironically thats gonna help my textbox stand out. So lets go ahead and add some words real quickly. Im going to pump up the size and maybe change the font for interest sake and i could as i had previously i could go ahead for some contrast.
I could go ahead and use the the white like i did still its not perfect and heres a case. Were playing around with a color. Some and youd find as you might not believe otherwise black actually stands up pretty nicely in all areas.
Even over what previously had been the black background certainly couldnt see it this way. But this is a nice provides a nice contrast hope that helps try using this technique in your next presentation. .
